Are people really complaining about amazon's pre-order price? first of all, that's a placeholder price, i guarantee you the price will drop the closer it gets to release. second, amazon does not charge your card until a few days BEFORE the movie ships.

there is literally no risk in pre-ordering it.

I don't mind the Silver cover, though I agree with some that a gold background with Blu font and silver background with gold font would be more affective.

Still I'm excited for this release, wonder if we'll a vid featuring half of Robin's vocal sessions

Perhaps Pinocchio's Diamond will be full art or another silver cover

Finally! Even though I've had the Zavvi steelbook for awhile, it's always nice to get the US release. Couldn't preorder this one fast enough.

Nothing official, but DMA has Aladdin and the King of Thieves listed as "coming soon" without a date, just like the original. (The Return of Jafar has nothing.) Normally, STV cheapquels of Vault titles come back from the Vault sometime in the weeks or months after the original.

There's no blue in the logo though.

By the way, my grandfather was in the Navy in World War II.

Also, did you know that the Navy were the unsung heroes of the Civil War? The Navy prevented ships giving supplies to the South. The South would have a lot more guns, if not for the Navy. It's sad that they aren't mentioned in Civil War history books.

I'm amazed they went with that in the first place, seeing as it's a violation of their agreement with Robin Williams... perhaps this didn't apply to home media:

http://spinoff.comicbookresources.co...laddin-poster/

Edit: apparently it was never a legal requirement but more of a "gentleman's agreement".

Quote:
So that brings us to the major issue for Williams. He asked (and Disney executives agreed) that his voice not be used to promote Aladdin and that his character not be used excessively in marketing. To wit, the request was “not more than 25% of the promotional poster for the picture.” That was because Williams had a new feature being released about the same time from another studio, Toys, and he didn’t want to compete with his own work, especially as one film would be “his” while the other was a glorified cameo.
Back when my brother was reviewing DVDs, when Aladdin came through for review in 2004, any promotional image that had the genie in it had a message on the edge reminding us of the 25% rule (basically saying, don't crop the picture to make it only the genie).

I like the cover, though gold writing would have made more sense than blue, which they presumably went with because of Genie.

Not really feeling the cover-art. The silver seems off to me. Maybe a metallic purple with gold lettering with something like this picture below would have been better. Jafar and Iago should have been on the cover-art anyways.

Looks like my link broke, I was referencing the picture found here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103639/

I would have preferred this cover as well.

Not to mention that a $5 coupon will probably appear at some point, as well.

Then I'm sure you know that the traditional Navy outfit is blue.

Yep, and Navy blue is easy on the eyes.

Darker blues are easier on the eyes than bright blues.

The harshest on the eyes: sun shinning off of snow. Snow covered grounds in the early morning hours is so blinding.

On-topic: Any idea when Disney will release the two sequels on Blu?

Hope they don't do a Sleeping Beauty and take off the previous bonus features to make room for new high definition material that barely has anything to do with the movie... Hope they do it like 101 Dalmatians and reserve the previous bonus features (except the games, I can do without those). And yeah, I could import the UK disc, but I also do the whole DMR/DMA thing.
