Are you guys sure those aren't automated bot replies? How could any human be so slimy? Lol

I rearranged my shelves by label recently. The missing numbered titles don't bother me at all. I could never buy movies I don't like just to complete a collection. I guess the day they were handing out quirks I must've been on vacation

DFE are marketing genius's. Look at all the interest they have stirred up.

They will be sitting back with a big, juicy cigar thinking 'JOB DONE'.

Bravo DFE.

I think I will avoid this company's releases, I just can't support cretins like this. The title I want, Offerings, is available in the UK so I will pick that one up.

Offerings wins, it's the worst film I've bought on bluray so far. And I buy a lot of trash. The transfer is mediocre but I wasn't expecting much so this is a non point for me. The audio was bad, it's mastered so quiet, everything sounds thin, my AVR had to be turned up about 20% more than the usual listening level for movies. And now on to what I hated, the entire film. The shameless Halloween rip-off score was obtrusive and annoying 90% of the time, this brought me out of the movie so much. The acting was atrocious but hey that's what we get with these shitty slashers, this does get so bad it's good at times. The story was pretty generic, there was no tension in any of the scenes, we have killer with no face for the entire run time of the film except the ending but we already knew who he was, it's established at the very beginning of the film. I don't sell off my blurays very often, I keep things that I may not re-watch just for the collection, this one I have no problem parting with it.

Seem to remember VS coming out and what was it? Their very first release getting RECALLED??? Put them on the map, and had people hunting down their product

But of course eBay had an endless supply of them , just saying there’s more of these tactics being used all over the place

I really wasn't pleased with mine either. Plus, that cover is straight up bootleg quality. Printed from an inkjet printer, blurry images that are damn near pixelated.

I noticed that too. The art on the disc looks bootleg as well.

Your attempt at an analogy is beyond spurious.

are you a VS fanboy, or start collecting last week and dont remember back?

they came out of the gate by creating a " collectible" and hard to find title.

not to mention "limited" titles that got repressed later on

A great many other companies adopt the 'limited edition first, standard edition later' policy.

Very few other companies put as much care and respect into their releases as VS does.

Whether their origins were rocky I really could not say, because they were not on my radar at the time. Still though, I think they've done more than enough to establish themselves as extremely competent both in restoring films and releasing them at this point.

Better example might be Arrow using shipping mishaps to create inflated demand on titles like The Apartment by Arrow stating in an update that Amazon wasn't being supplied any additional shipments after Amazon had "sold out" on pre-orders and canceled people's orders - resulting in people thinking the title was totally sold out and that scalpers were the only option... But Arrow conveniently left out that Amazon never actually received the bulk of their initial shipment for release date, which people figured out on their own a week later when the title was again readily available for purchase.

Didn't VS pull the Savage Water/Inv to Death DVD due to legal issues?
I don't think that was done on purpose or as a marketing ploy.
Or is there another title I might be unaware of?

And haven't they always been upfront about limited editions that may or may not be repressed? We know all slipcover editions, when sold out, will be sold in plain editions. Or certain blu-rays getting re-released in dvd format (Jeckyll & Hyde Portfolio, Runaway Nightmare).

I'll support VS, Dark Force - or any other as long its a film im interested in

It's not a knock on any label- I'm merely stating it's silly to point at Dark Force for creating a "collectible" when others labels have and do the same as well.

Two things that VS are always dependable for, honesty and quality restoration / transfers. They may have had a rocky beginning (don't know, wasn't paying attention when they started) but they are the most dependable boutique label out there right now. I'm willing to give Dark Force the benefit of the doubt but Offerings is less than stellar and the physical copy (print quality of disc label and insert) are bootleg quality so that's strike one. They get a few chances and then I stop caring.

you don't see the differences?

VS had to pull their dvd release of "savage water/death by invitation" because of rights issues.
DF plan to pull back their blu-ray of HTV/EMHS because they themselves decided to do so, to create artifical scarcity and demand.

VS never sold their dvd of "SW/DBI" for inflated prices, actually i got mine for free by them, as a present together with a black friday order.
DF on the other hand are planning to do exactly that - holding stock back to sell later at inflated prices.

not to mention that the guys at VS are genuinely nice people, DF come across as very shady people.

as others have stated before me, it's quite a spurious comparison you made here.

edit: also if you use capslock together with three question marks, it makes you look like code red bill hidden behind a fake profile.
