Still, AFAIK this is the first and only release from Fox that has to do with an Anniversary. Everything else was either a launch title or tied into a sequel/reboot release.

Yep, funny that the last four Potter movies were released on UHD the exact same day as Fantastic Beasts' home video release. There's some sort of link there, damned if I can put my finger on it...

This year is the 50th Anniversary of the original Planet of the Apes. Haven't heard anything about that though. |

Seeing as how reticent Par were towards UHD a year ago then I'm not surprised that they didn't make any overtures towards releasing such a big movie on 4K, although the success of Ghost in the Shell on 4K a year ago is what helped to turn things around since (see below) - and even if it is just a successsion of sequel/reboot cash-ins and anniversaries, that's better than nothing!! Grease in 4K with audio derived from the 6-track mix? Someone pinch me... Quote:

If only the Planet of the Apes movies had been released on 4k in 2018 it might have been easier as a tie-in. |

I loves me some translated titles. Number 2 somehow became '58 Minutes To Live!'. Though I suppose 'Die Hard 2: Die Harder' really was just a giant "F*** You" to every foreign market needing to translate the title ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, you gotta love thems foreigns titles. The French one for Home Alone becomes "Mama, I Missed The Plane!" or something to that effect.
DH2 was actually based on a book called '58 Minutes' though so I can see where that came from for the French title, even if it has no meaning in the film itself. The Spanish had a similar idea with Die Hard, it was called "The Crystal Jungle" even though that makes no sense when carried on over into the sequels, natch. |

Technically it's just Die Hard 2. There's no "Die Harder" in the main title. Just like Edge of Tomorrow isn't "Live Die Repeat" (where the hell's the 4K disc Warner???)

One of my all-time favorites is this one, the Spanish title for Dr. Strangelove: ![]() ¿Teléfono rojo? Volamos hacia Moscú (yes, with question marks!), that literally means: Red Telephone? We're Flying to Moscow As for Die Hard, in Latin America it was called "Duro de matar", if you translate that to the english language, that literally means: ![]() ![]() |
