Have been looking at every angle possible on the DS5.

Trying to compare sticks.

It looks like they are not round edges. They look more like the DS4 sticks form factor with the sides having textured engravings.

Haven’t seen underneath angle anywhere, so could be wrong & hope I am.

I feel like they'll be a little more solid than the DS4 but to me, i usually stick thumb grips on them to preserve the rubber on them longer. I actually wanted to play with a slightly raised right stick. So i've been on the lookout for that and hoping that i can use that and the eventual DualSense Back Button attachment which i hope comes out at launch.

I still use grip-its

They were made for PS3 & 360 generation but fit nicely on the DS4.

I’ve tried multiple new games, using a new controller without them. It’s not easy getting used to not having the grip.

The fiasco with the launch DS4s i had just made me go this way and before that i guess i didn't care as much but over time, i've noticed the benefit. Particularly of more fine aiming on my FPS games when playing MP with having a slightly raised stick. I got the KontrolFreek Inferno's but tbh, the stick is the highest and not to my taste as you struggle to more easily hit the face buttons on the right when moving from aiming on the right stick to reload or similar. So i was set on getting a mid rise but for the life of me cannot find any cheap 3rd party versions.

So far i'd lile to think i haven't used my KontrolFreek excessively and it was purchased from a reliable retailer so genuine. It's worn down in less than 12 months significantly and to top it off its now torn as it seems to have worn down.

I recommend thumb grips but if you're going for a same height as the analogue sticks as standard, then the numerous cheap brands should do but heard good things about the ones you just mentioned.

Only downside to grip-its is they can touch the outer ring of the controller. So not very accurate for aiming.

Ah, i see. I still feel like Sony haven't really unveiled a proper 1st party Elite/Pro controller yet to compete with MS. That would be awesome but i don't know if MS have a set of alternate/backup replacements for the sticks etc. so i'd probably still use grips.

I'm a little disappointed Sony refuse to do a wired 1st party headset. They've had problems with the original GOLDs on the hinges but then they redesigned and released that again. However they never did that for their one and only wired official headset.

I remember vividly thinking after picking up the Xbox One Controller for the first time, that the sticks themselves are too small & may break under rough conditions. I didn’t think the textured grip on them would last either.

I was wrong.

Having used the standard controller for nearly 7 years, those standard grips hold up over the years. As for hard pressing L3 to sprint in games for example, the sticks are solid plastic with 0 rubber attached to them. If you really hated the controller, I’m sure you could apply enough pressure to break them. Maybe some MP “rage” gamers have. lol

All Sony would have to do with the DS5 is make their own version of that textured grip MS uses, (maybe PS symbols) & “maybe” get rid of the rubber around the plastic.

Boom!

You’d never worry about losing grip at all in any game.

So after seeing the official reveal DS5 controller, I was a bit disappointed when I saw the materials used for the sticks. I would of been more disappointed if they left them exactly the same as the DS4.

Hopefully after playing through a 20-40 game with this new DS5 Controller, they’ll prove me wrong like my initial thoughts on the Xbox One’s Controller.

It's funny but, of all the great stuff that we saw at the event, the two games I still think about now are Kena Bridge of Spirits and Little Devil Inside. Those two games looked so cool! Kena looks like something straight out of Dreamworks or Pixar and Little Devil inside reminds of me some strange Tim Burton stop motion movie like Nightmare Before Christmas or Corpse Bride.

That Little Devil Inside wasn't personally something i jived with but Kena was amazing in cutscenes but need to see a more gameplay oriented video too. Hopefully they can polish it up a bit.

Stray looked amazing though and intrigued to know more about that one. Project Athica? That looked interesting but also kinda weird. Hope it's not another vapourware situation.

This was the one standout game for me as well though I was intrigued by Returnal & Pragmata.

Outside of how real the cat itself looked, what was so impressive about Stray? The trailer didn't show a whole lot to get excited over. It might end up being great but the trailer wasn't enough to get me excited about it. I'm definitely curious though.

Returnal was a bit interesting but i wasn't impressed by the gameplay looking elements vs the cutscenes. Pragmata was a funny one. I'm intrigued by it but at the same time, certain design elements such as the hair seemed "off" but not to the point i'd write both games off my watch list.

I think the visual style intrigued me and a curiosity of why robots have taken over. What happened to humans and how exactly a cat fits in. I guess it's just the curiosity and art style i personally liked.

Honestly this is what has me interested in Stray, just the style & the possible story to whatever is going on in that world. In regards to Returnal & Pragmata, I agree as well but both games are further down the road so we will see what tweaks they will get.

Listen, I can think of two previous examples where you could play as a cat and that was Bubsy and Blinx. Both experiences were nothing to write home about so my expectations for this are pretty low, LOL!!!

Ok, I never played those games. But I am looking forward to Stray, to each their own.
