There is that one part in the building where the enemies keep spawning. I am going to stack up so many bodies.

My issue with TLOU2, its HOW Joel dies and the fact that ND was stupid enough to think gamers would just accept the idea of playing as Abby, who murders a beloved character such as Joel 20 minutes prior! Imo, that was a huge disprespect to the fans, to ask them to do that. I can almost hear the boardroom conversation at ND where Druckmann says, "Hey, you know what would REALLY" piss off the fans???" Im sorry, but that was a terrible decision! To ask gamers to accept Abby as a protagonist that we must control/be protective of, after introducing her as the sadistic, murdering c_nt who killed Joel was a huge miscalculation! It was a terrible decision that IMO was a result of Neil Druckmann's own hubris. Asking the audience to accept playing as a protagonist everybody hates because she had just sadistically murdered a character everybody loved, is a ridiculous notion and a creative indulgence that he should've have recognized as a terrible idea! I mean, what kind of contempt for your audience must you have to ask them to do something like that???

It is the perfect palate cleanser for me. It does something only Metal Gear Solid 2 did. Completely swerve you. They even set you up thinking you are playing as Ellie. After all these years it is hard to surprise me, and that switch out surprised me. I like it.

People need to quit claiming that ND/Druckmann pissed fans off, as if they pissed everyone off and as if everyone hated TLOU2. That's simply not true. I'm a fan. I didn't feel disrespected and as a matter of fact I respect an artist's decisions. Those decisions might not work for everyone but in this case I understood what the artist was trying to say and it worked for me.

If you want Joel and play as Joel then play TLOU1. Where's the problem? No one's forcing anyone to play TLOU2. Resident Evil 6 sucks balls. So I don't play it. It doesn't ruin any other RE for me.

Joel was bland, so I never cared about his killing. People speak as if he had charisma or some kind of dark, mysterious charm. There was nothing there. But Abby's design is still terrible and I didn't care about either of the women's quests for those reasons stated earlier.

Now that's just stupid. When people say this, I immediately know they don't know WTF they're talking about.

If you didn't care about Joel in the first game, why bother with the second game? Or did you get excited when his death was leaked, but disappointed when the second dealt with the repercussions of his murder?

Story (which wasn't bad in the first, but not good) is not the only reason to play a game. Then again, gameplay was mediocre too. 20 dollars was low enough for me to try the sequel.

But, see, that's what I don't get. Clearly neither the gameplay or the story did it for you. So I don't see why you'd bother with the sequel, even at $20.

By the way, not putting you on the spot. I know folk who check out shows/games they suspect they won't like it, based on previous experience. It just doesn't make sense to me, but I know it makes sense to others.

I enjoyed Last of Us II.

Reason? I’m all about tech. There isn’t any other game currently technically more advanced in animation, combat in a narrative cinematic way. Only RDR2 comes close to TLOU2.

As per story, have at it. Everyone has their own opinion.

I can see someone being initially turned off by Joel, misinterpreting him as a generic, gruff tough guy, archetype. But as the story progresses, you see there's more to him. He doesn't like to show it, but he cares for those around him (Tess, Ellie, Tommy) but he's afraid of leaving himself vulnerable after the death of Sarah. He's not bland or one-note at all.

Neil Druckmann Says 'Don't Bet on' There Being a The Last of Us Part 3

Quote:
If you're a The Last of Us fan anxiously hoping for word that Naughty Dog is working on a Part 3 video game, I've got some bad news for you. Series creator Neil Druckmann has put a real damper today on any hopes that a Part 3 is in the works...or ever will be.

Speaking to Variety, Druckmann gave a lengthy interview today largely centered around The Last of Us TV series. However, at the end, the outlet asked him about the prospect of The Last of Us Part 3. Druckmann responded with quite the shut-down:

“I was waiting for this question,” he said, sighing. “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.”

Of course, the question remains as to if you believe Druckmann or not. Naughty Dog is currently hard at work on Intergalactic, which was announced at The Game Awards last December and is likely several years away from completion given its lack of any kind of release window. With the studio's interests firmly in space right now, there's no way the team has time for The Last of Us Part 3 anytime soon. It's entirely possible Druckmann is being coy here, or simply that he isn't willing to commit yet. The passage of time could change this response...or, he could just be done with it. Who can say!

Disappointed.
If you guys believe this, you’re being fooled.

There will be a The Last Of Us Part III

Just not anytime soon. He’s focused on the show and the new IP. He doesn’t want to keep getting asked this question.

It'll be out when we get the remaster remake of Last of Us Part I on PS6 and the Last of Us Part II remake.

I don't think so. At the end of Grounded II he sounded like Part III is basically coming so to throw cold water on it like that is a definite change in tone. He could have just been coy about it. I took it as he now thinks it's not happening but doesn't want to rule it out.

Fair enough. I still think it's definitely happening. Could be 5-6 years from now, but I still think it happens.
