One thing I would disagree with is the assertion that Sammo was cautious about bringing his harder fighting style to a modern picture for Winners & Sinners. The year before he made Carry On, Pickpocket, a modern-day action comedy that was far harsher and more violent than any of the Lucky Star series. I also don't think My Lucky Stars is that tough. Twinkle is the only one of the three that could be recognised as an "R-rated" type picture.

This made me go look up the trailer for Aces Go Places and now I want that.

Any of you with any influence at 88 any chance of that?

And I just watched the trailer for this as well, damn there seem to be a lot of little Sammo gems that I have never seen.

The Aces Go Places series is from Cinema City. So not much chance at the moment. Opinions vary but I liked the first two (directed by Eric Tsang) the best. Parts 3-5 are weaker entries despite being directed, respectively, by Tsui Hark, Ringo Lam, and Lau Kar-Leung! Not even sure if there are any decent DVDs of these.

Better chance for Carry On, Pickpocket. That's a Fortune Star title at least (though not Golden Harvest). Like Winners & Sinners it's a comedy with some (tough) final reel combat. It's not a GREAT film as such, but it's fair, and important in Sammo's career as a filmmaker.

Aces Go Places '97 is the only one in the series that I own... on VCD.

I only really enjoy that for Christy Chung.

Still another week for early shipment.
According to Amazon at least it isn't out until next Monday.

There's a somewhat decent blu-ray (upscale) of those movies available from Germany. I cant remember the name of the company but I have episode 5. Probably still available through Amazon.

They usually ship before release date. In most cases for me usually the week before, so I expect them to ship my out later this week.

Only had a quick look at Winners and Sinners as I’ve had to go to work. But looks to be a another excellent job by Eureka with great PQ and audio options.
