I have a 2-part newbie question. At some point in the near future I'll be looking to replace my 10 year old Denon. (She's been very good to me.) If I were to move to the world of separates and wanted to get an amplifier is there a reason to buy a receiver verse a processor? As far as I know the only Denon made separate is $7,500. I hate the idea of not owning a Denon anymore. Please sell me on it.

And second.... if I were to get a Denon with say an Emotiva amplifier is there a reason to get the 4311CI vs 3311CI vs 2311CI

Ignoring things like 9.3 vs 9.2 etc (I'm still a very satisfied 5.1) are there major differences between the models when you're using a separate amp?

The 4311 will give you an extra HDMI input, SACD decoding, and 7.1 analog inputs. The biggest features you gain (IMO) is Audyssey XT32 and the ability to shut off the internal amps if you're using an external amp. Without the amps running, it's almost a processor.

I agree. This is, IMO, a huge feature.

I'm using a Denon 3311CI that I bought last year for $700. I use it along with a NAD s200 stereo amplifier for the mains. Sounds great. Love the Audyssey MultiEQ XT!

Question Denon 4310ci Question

I have a problem with my Denon 4310ci I have is there a way to disable the Network Feature or the Port so it won't suck my bandwith away while watching Netflix on Xbox 360 the Movies won't start in HD?

I just found out another problem while waiting for a response to the Netflix Issue I went to Listen too an Internet Radio Station and I get a File Format Error The Only thing I did was a Firmware Update a couple of Nights ago and Internet Radio worked before ?

In your 4310 there is a menu setup for the Ethernet port; you can set it only to receive Firmware Updates,
and disable its other features.
Check, it is also indicated in your Instructions Manual.

Question I read my manual yesterday and did not see the option you described...

I read my manual yesterday and did not see the option you described I looked through the denon's menu today and the only option that I saw was a Network Standby option is that what you are talking about?

I tried listening to Internet Radio and on Some stations I get File Format Error why is that? I am listening to the stations from denonradio.com

if you don't have a sub why would you want to do that? you have large speakers let them handle the bass until you get a sub

if you were running a sub that would make sense so the sub would handle the bass for you but since your not let those m80s handle it, that way you'll still get some nice deep bass until you get a sub

Default Newb question for the Denon guys.

Just getting in to the HT thing. My old AVR was Yamaha I primarily used for music. Just got a new TV and BRD and I want to upgrade the AVR. Been doing a little research and I want to go with Denon. What would be a good receiver to go with the following set up ?

TV Sony KDL55HX800 3D
Sony BDP-S570 3D
Polk CS245I Center
Polk PSW 250 Sub Woofer
Polk RTI28 Surrounds 6ohm
Polk R40 Fronts

Would like to stay in the $400-$500 dollar range but would consider more if the value is there.

The avr 3311ci is great. You can find it at 6ave or EE with a coupon for around $800

Hey Guys,
Some of you had problem using Denon 4311CI and Motorola DVR DCX-3400? My brother and law have this HD error and screen turn green.

I have the same DVR and work properly.
