WOW I was wondering how long have you known him? Only thing I have to say is how can you say that about someone unless you know him personally. Now on to this thread, I heard the sound file and he was really pissed and I thought to myself he went overboard. Then I read about the DP guy and Im thinking hell, Bale warned him a couple of times not to tweek the lights during filming and he kept on. I do think Bale still went a little overboard but people need to look at the whole picture and not just one side. Look at robert downey jr and the drugs he did, and people seemed to forgive him and turn in a blind eye

Even before this publicity stunt to show Bale's aggression as John Connor and promote T4, I have not been a huge huge fan of his. I could take 'im or leave 'im in movies... and personally, I would not miss him if the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman were recast for the 3rd movie. No big loss.

Haha I find it so amusing how some people are bothered by this. Christian Bale has been one of my favorite actors for a long time. This makes me like him even more. He's such a badass!

Dude.

There isn't much on this planet that warrants a rant like what Bale delivered.

Seriously.

If Bale was operating on someone and someone kept re-adjusting their light and the flubbed the operation or accidentally left a junior mint in the poor bastard on the table, then... maybe... he'd be warranted on such an explosion.

He was acting in a scene, if he doesn't like that the guy was re-adjusting a light then he should have brought it up with the director and the director should have had sack enough to deal with it IN PRIVATE.

In that regard, I find it so unfortunate how some people are NOT bothered by this. Christian Bale has been one of my favorite actors for a long time. This makes me like him even less. He's such a douche!

Why would I be bothered by this, yes, he went overboard with his rant, and exhaustingly got his point across, but he simply yelled at the guy. Freaking premadonnas, god forbid, we yell at our fellow man. Ohhhhhhh. I think he has a great command of the English language and should be commended for putting such expletives together so eloquently!

Lack of respect would be one, IMO Logan.

That was rather fluid.

Why is everyone rushing to pass judgement when we all only know part of the story and none of the circumstances. Did this happen 5x before, and did Bale tell McG to talk to the guy (and the guy kept doing it anyway)? I've only heard the audio. Was the guy smiling and/or laughing in Bale's face? That usually sets people off.

In addition, most of us are not actors, so it's hard for me to get into the mentality. But maybe an analogy would be someone talking at a golfer when he's in the middle of his swing. Don't you think a golfer would get pissed at someone breaking his concentration?

I'm just saying. It's not an excuse, and Bale treated the guy poorly. But I also feel people are vilifying and passing judgement without knowing all of the details. There's two sides to every story...

Dude, your response is even shorter than mine, therefore, it is of a higher pussification value.

It is hard to put ourselves into his shoes. We do not the the entire situation and, as stated, there are two sides to every story. I think that either way, in this case, Bale went to far in his vulgar language

Remember that scene in family guy where they make fun of "Horton Hears a Who" and call it "Horton Hears a domestic disturbance"? The elephant is sitting in his apartment and hearing the husband scream terribly at his wife while hitting her and the elephants says "I'm sure there's two sides to this"

That's what Harry Knowles and anyone else defending Bale's actions sound like to me. I big f***ing ignorant elephant. "I know this because I happen to be somewhere where someone that was there that day and for the shoot is""....are you kidding me, Harry?!!!
It's a movie about a future robot vs human war directed by f***ing McG of all people! Not saying that it doesn't merit some heavy concentration and process for the actors, but come on. Defending verbal abuse is JUST like defending physical abuse. They both do the same thing, which is damage a person emotionally.

I guess if Harry beats or degrades his wife it's ok. Because he told her many times to make sure to get him original recipe, but she came home with extra crispy. Guess his wife deserves it cause she wasn't doing her job of being a wife and running an errand.

So...

It's ok to respond to a lack of respect... by dropping F-bombs into sentences like they're commas and threatening to kick someone's ass over something that {here on Earth, in REALITY-land} wouldn't warrant such punishment?

In short, I have to ask, is it OK where you come from to respond to a lack of respect, with a MASSIVE lack of respect?

Seriously?

Pull the other one.

Logan

Absolutely! Don't expect any respect if you don't have any for others.
