Lost in Space is another with the first season available but the second and third are not. First season was a gorgeous looking disc and packed a punch from the audio side of things. It is a Netflix title so who knows if we see something there now that it has ended.

Stranger Things is the big one, but I am guessing we will see something eventually with Netflix currently using that as a pull sort of tv show to sign up.

Even with two shows leaving me high and dry, I still roll the dice and buy tv shows as technical merits often warrant the better format, and I like having the option of heading downstairs to pop something in when I have a spare hour in my day.

There is also the anticipation of buying seasons individually that you get with a show like Better Call Saul. Final season comes out early December, and the build up getting to this point has been worth it picking them up as they were released. This one will go into the player right away.
Shows originating from a streaming service are problematic, so no surprise there. Physical media releases are hardly something that they place much importance upon.

The new Lost In Space was a 20th Century Fox title and as Disney bought Fox that is now problematic, too.

The Handmaid's Tale was distributed on disc by Fox/MGM and that's a double cluster**** now with Fox being bought by Disney and MGM being bought by Amazon.

I buy TV shows because I enjoy watching them, not because I need a complete collection. The fact that there probably won't be any additional seasons of American Horror Story released won't affect my enjoyment of watching the 8 seasons I have.

If you are concerned about having an incomplete story then you probably shouldn't be watching ongoing shows in any format. You never know when a show will be cancelled and end on a cliffhanger.

A true supporter of physical media shouldn't be telling anyone to buy less physical media.

You do realise that AHS series crossover, right?

However, the various series make up the entire story, what’s the point of having half the story or three quarters? It’s nonsensical.

A shame that it is not on 4K disc.

Which brings me back to my previous point:

Why would you ever watch any TV show before it's completed if an incomplete story bothers you so much?

Telling someone they are wasting money on physical media is extremely similar to telling them they should be buying less physical media.

Last time that happened to me was American Gothic decades ago.

I've watched plenty of shows that ended on cliffhangers. I've also watched plenty of shows that had terrible endings. I would never judge any show on its ending (or lack thereof) so having an incomplete show on disc doesn't bother me.

You must be extremely lucky if every show you've watched in the last few decades came to a satisfying conclusion. Though that means you are missing out on lots of great shows.

Not sure about judging shows based on endings. Game of Thrones’ ending is the lasting taste in my mouth, and it’s not a good one.

I judge everything on its own merits. A bad season doesn't make the previous seasons worse. A bad sequel doesn't make the previous movie worse. A season or sequel that isn't released on physical media won't make any of the previous entries worse either.

You are changing the narrative now, the satisfaction with a show’s ending is irrelevant. It’s the ability to own said ending on disc that is relevant. I give you ‘Lost’ as an example. What would be the point if the final series didn’t drop on Blu-ray? Or ANY mystery series for that matter.

Saying "it could be argued" doesn't absolve you of all responsibility of what you wrote.
