Agreed, Bautista's look of "Hm, interesting, I'll consider that…" was well done.

I read a lot of reviews and you know what bugs me , most of them keep saying it is the marvel standard they all try and get a mcguffin . Why don't these people know there are these artifacts . Maybe Marvel should do a prequil of the infinity stones so all these people know what all these movies are about .

Because Marvel doesn't make these movies to appease the critics. It's for the fans/ general public. I don't think the latter has any issues staying with the story line. Besides, there are a lot of reviewers("cough" Walts Ghost "cough") that do solid reviews and also know what time it is.

They did do prequels, they are called comic books! People should read up on them then they would know. There is also google for the lazy man!

For other movie types you always hear folks going "well, it wasn't like the book or they didn't remain faithful to the series of books". Now ask those people to read the comic books that those movies are based on and you'll get the stink eye!

I have to bring this up on my part, I have never been a big soundtrack person. There has been only a couple of movies that came out that I had to get the soundtrack for and this is one of them. Awesome soundtrack I bought it on iTunes and it went straight to my Iphone

I'm not into comic books...never was as a kid.

So when I'm watching a Marvel movie in the theater and I'm not sure what I'm seeing or what it's about I went home and googled. Usually one of the comic book sites like CBM would have a good explanation of what it was we saw.

[Show spoiler]I had to do that with the end credit scene of Thor: TDW and the blue alien in Agents of SHIELD.

Needless to say when I heard about what to expect in GOTG because of the TV show and TDW I got more excited about it.

Talking rodent notwithstanding.

The hack directing this thing has no clue how to make the audience earn a heartfelt moment, or loud action scene. I guess it fits today's audience though, who are use to getting everything instantly without earning it.

Can a story be any worse? This is syfy channel stuff with a big time budget. Doesnt help we're kept in the dark about whats really going on for about the first hour of the film until del Torro's throwaway character explains everything through super confusing dialogue and flashbacks. Did anybody actually understand any of that diarrhea of the mouth?

The laughable villain? He's poorly executed in just about every way. Poorly designed costume and look. Overpowered. Not scary. Has poor motives. Audience is never given a good reason to hate or fear him. Henchmen are weak and underdeveloped.

And who are the Guardians of the Galaxy saving anyway? A poorly fleshed out planet that we know little about and spend very little time on?

And all the destruction in the end was appalling. It didnt help the final boss showdown was ripped straight out of Man of Steel either, but of course executed poorly.

1 point for Zoe Saldana

This is a 100% troll post. Why bring up MOS? Seems to me you are trying to stir up a hornets nest with this post this post here and others like are the reason why Marvel and DC fans bicker all the time on the forums

+1. People like this who already declare they hate Marvel will spend money to see these movies just to detest them here. To the haters: If you don't like Marvel movies, then why are you still seeing them??

Hey I love DC movies but I love Marvel movies! Why not both? IMO its better for us when DC and Marvel are trying to outdo each other. Gives us great movies to watch.

I agree with you completely. I don't know why it's always one over the other. As a kid, I was more a DC fan. I became more of a Marvel fan when I got older, but I still like both. I sincerely hope that ALL comic book movies do well.

I haven't bought a soundtrack since Batman in '89. GotG broke that streak.

This! We should want them all to succeed. I hate seeing the back and forth...Competition will continue to breed great films, but that doesn't mean that we need to try lines in the sand and choose a side. I've enjoyed just as many great Marvel films as great DC/Vertigo films over the years, and been unfortunately tortured by bad films based off Marvel and DC properties. But they both still have excellent films, good films, and bad films. That's just the way it is. The bickering and trolling between the two sides is tiring.

I would like DC's movies more if they embraced their heritage of being Comic Book films.

And not make movies that seem to be ashamed of it instead of celebrating it like Marvel does.

[Show spoiler]The original Howard the Duck comics and the 1986 movie are two totally different things: the former was excellent while the latter was awful.
