Not Another Teen Movie is the best comedy of the last 25 years! Granted, the last 15 years have offered no competition, so bear that in mind...

Seriously though, the sheer volume and variety of the gags in that film far outweighs anything that's come out since 2001. It has sight gags, wordplay, referential humour, absurdism, the lot! The specificity of the jokes related to the movies it's parodying is stellar too.

It unfairly gets lumped in with the likes of Date Movie, Epic Movie, Superhero Movie, Stan Helsing and that sort of utter tripe, but it's legitimately hilarious. The laughs/jokes per minute is off the scale.

I implore you! GO WATCH IT! It's hysterical. Great cast. Fun soundtrack. It's a fast-paced, easy watch. If you haven't seen it, you're genuinely missing out.

Thus ends this Public Service Announcement!

Awesome movie, and I keep hoping Sony puts out a 4K because I refuse to buy the MOD blu.

To be fair, I wish neither the DCU nor the MCU existed. I hate cinematic universes. Having said that, Gunn respects the source material more (if Feige even gives a shit about the source material).

I think it was an idea that was inevitable. Is DC done with their attempt at a DCU? Feels like beating a dead horse even though they didn't really get it up and running like Marvel did (shocker)

I enjoyed World War Z (the spiritual sequel to 28 Weeks Later) more than I enjoyed 28 Years Later, the actual sequel to 28 Weeks Later.

World War Z is awesome. Dunno if that's an unpopular opinion but I do know my opinion that 28 days later being kinda crap is.

Anyone that reads my comment and doesn't immediately go watch it will certainly have to deal with the cheer-onsequences!

My only problem with that film it is its reliance on people's knowledge of Varsity Blues for a lot of jokes - a film that never really had the cultural impact or success that most of the rest of the films spoofed in NATM did. (I'm not sure it even got a cinema release over here in the UK).

Other than that, loved it. Great cast, laugh out loud funny, & the parodies are often spot-on. I've always found it odd that it's never mentioned in the pantheon of great spoof movies.

ps. The theatrical cut is better than the 'unrated' version.

I saw NATM in the theater and gave it a 7/10 at that time. I've never seen Varsity Blues.

I had no idea until very recently that Airplane! was largely a spoof of Zero Hour!, which I have never seen. But I've always enjoyed Airplane!.

Not really an opinion and not unpopular.

It's as much a remake as it is a spoof. In fact they bought the rights to it in order to do so.

My favorite "cinematic universe" currently is the Godzilla/Kong movies. They aren't high art or anything. They're just big silly monster movies. But sometimes that just hits the spot. Besides, I love the visuals. They really are very pretty to look at. Very painterly almost compared to a lot of similarly destruction oriented movies. And I think that's my favorite version of Godzilla. I just really like everything they do with him in these movies from his design to his personality. But my favorite thing about it is that unlike the MCU or whatever DC is these days....the Monsterverse actually f*cks off every once in a while. I don't feel like it's constantly saturating the market and being shoved down my throat. A movie comes out every few years, does its thing and actually goes away again for a while. Not unlike Godzilla himself lol. That's actually appreciated in this day and age. I'd rather watch more Monsterverse movies than MCU movies at the moment..

Wishing is one thing, but actually investing to upgrade is another. Of course, I wish I had my entire collection in 4K, because technically that is the superior format. But the difference in picture quality that I can perceive watching on my 77" Sony OLED is so minimal, that I don't see any value in paying for it. I guess that's my unpopular opinion.

Julia Ducournau < Coralie Fargeat

I'm not that big on The Substance but I like what Fargeat does with her films where as Ducourmau's work makes me annoyed. Titane is trash.

There has never been a superhero movie profound enough to validate the intensity of the discord surrounding the genre.
