See, testing your wireless network was a worthwhile thing to do after all.

My old retired N router served me for 12 years and it is still in good working order. It endured many power outages during that time. You must have bad luck or you are rough with your toys. Be nice to your toys.

Having a preference is just fine, but either type of network offers a solid and reliable connection for streaming videos. Currently, that only matters if streaming bitrates ever actually reach 4K disc levels or if you are able to use Sony's Bravia Core service, which recommends a minimum of 115 Mbps for best results.

What folks really get tired of is your response to any RTSP (streaming) problems must be because they are using Wi-Fi. In some cases that could be true but a quick test by that Wi-Fi device should help eliminate the signal level issues. I have two Roku devices that show level and speed for Wi-Fi in the user menu. Advance items can be seen with these button sequences.

Hard RTSP facts: No amount of connection speed of any type will eliminate video aberrations encoded in the files. There is a large variation of network speed between end user and the CDN, a local wired connection will not change that. There is a large variation between providers in their encodes of the same title. I and others have shown these differences using Apple Developer HUD. It is a fact and how you are connected will not change this.

Just because of my background and working on Wireless problems gives me my strong beliefs on Hardwire Ethernet. If you guys love Wireless so much would you use Wireless HDMI? I'm pretty sure that most of you if not all would go with Hardwire!

What I would do is evaluate its performance and reliability for myself and then decide. It's called having an objective and open mind.

With that said, HDMI cables transmit a LOT of data. 4K HDMI cables carry up to 18 Gbps and 8K HDMI cables deliver up to 48 Gbps. Wirelessly transmitting that much data reliably in a home environment is probably still a big challenge.

Conceptually, who wouldn't want to reduce the number of wires in their set-ups if doing so could be done without any issues? One of HDMI's greatest benefits is that it is a single cable capable of delivering both video and audio signals; it reduced the number of cables needed.

I am a for real tech person, you do a system based on many technical factors, not emotions.

At this time I have no need for wireless HDMI so have not looked into its use. I do plan to replace all my current HDMI cables with Certified Premium cables except the one to the video projector. That one will be a new Certified Ultra High Speed Active HDMI fiber optic cable. It is 49' in length, only need 35' but 49' is as close as I could get.

Got my flu shot and bivalent booster yesterday at the same time and on the same arm. Aside from some light fatigue, all is well.

I have the new DV Bram Stoker's Dracula and Fright Night 4K discs coming today at some point. I also purchased the e-book of Fright Night Origins, which expands on the film, with more backstory and character development than the film. It was also co-written by director Tom Holland.

I saw that Highlander is getting a domestic 4K release in December from Lionsgate but I'm keeping my UK order.

I thought they don't apply a flu shot and bivalent booster to the same arm, otherwise how do you identify if you have a reaction to either. Expect the bivalent to be more sore at 48 hours later, maybe a slight temp. They were developing a combo shot of the two for some time in the future.

Yeah, that was the option I was given and since it was cumbersome to try and do one arm each, I just said do the same arm -- since it was also the arm closest to the nurse. At least I will be good for another year. I looked at my vaccination card and I received the last booster and flu shot last November. Time flew by!

Wow, this was an unexpected announcement. I normally don't purchase TV shows nowadays, but may make an exception to these just to give Amazon that nudge to go ahead and release RoP on 4K disc, too.
