One change that I'm making with this Z9X is backing my music video discs up again as BDMV and VOB. With this type of device, the disc menus are just easier than splitting the videos into separate music videos. Not for all of them. Some DVDs have terrible menus.
Only major problem with that is I can't use the headphones for stereo music videos. The USB connection just doesn't work with my headphone amp. My headphones have far better clarity and depth than my speakers. Which reminds me, I should back up Leon again. Don't need two separate MKVs for the branched disc anymore. Usually only keep one, because almost all alternate cuts suck. Edit: And Apocalypse Now theatrical/Redux. Last edited by Warm Gun; 10-26-2022 at 08:57 PM. |

All of this talk about Zidoo's and Zappiti's has me humming this Oscar winning song:
I thank you all for putting it in my head. ![]() |

The ATV+ gift cards at Costco have now increased in price to $62.99 for the annual ones. Glad I locked one in at the $44.99 a couple of days ago. $62.99 is still $7 cheaper if you were to just go with automatic billing via Apple's subscription plan.
The horror movie "Barbarian" is live on HBO MAX, too. |

Does anyone know the reason for the Ban, Steedeel IMO was such a Gentleman. He never sank low or demeaned anyone for his Love of Film on Disc!

There are a few agitating members I see posting more often and he must have been triggered.
But,.... I don't think anyone saw what happened so lets just hope it's temporary and look forward to him coming back. I don't want to fast forward but my November is shaping up with lots of amazing news. I can't wait to retire one of my favorite DVDs with Blu Ray and one of my favorite Blu Rays with UHD BD. ![]() ![]() And the biggest news of all for me is a extensive new FW update available Nov 15 for my projector is getting rave reviews by those who have early access to it. It adds Film Maker Mode and a new laser dimming mode and a new frame adapt HDR mode. Essentially a new product delivered via free FW update. ![]() November giving so much to be thankful for, gotta love it. Last edited by bhampton; 10-30-2022 at 02:20 PM. |

For you projector owners or anyone needing a long HDMI cable. In preparation of eventual projector replacement I replaced one of my 40 ft. HDMI cables between equipment rack and projector with this 15 meter one because MonoPrice never responded to my power requirement question. Went with a Ultra High Speed for future proofing. This cable is Ultra High Speed Certified, below resulted when I scanned the QR code.
HDMI 2.0 ports only supply 50 mA, this cable is HDMI 2.1 requiring 120 mA so I purchased this Power Inserter. As with any active HDMI cable, there will be a Source end and a Display end. [Show spoiler]

My 25 foot Ruipro fiber optic HDMI cable came with a "power inserter" dongle that I almost threw away accidentally. I found it in my box of spare junk. It's actually a good thing to use though in my case it made no perceptible difference. It may make any HDMI handshake negotiation a little smoother.
I don't know exactly why or how it works and it's strange JVC recommends you use it on the projector side of things. I mean, I know it adds voltage to the pins that carry the voltage but it's strange to me using it on the PJ side of the cable... seems like the HDMI input could just add the voltage to the signal internally. |
