Yeah...I guess it's just lucky for me that I have such an easy going nature and sunny disposition that I never find myself at odds with anyone here or in real life....

Even though October was a rocky month, my collection still managed to grow:

The Bat also includes nine approx. half-hour long radio episodes featuring Vincent Price performing in a variety of short stories. The purchase was worth it for these alone.

Fantastic choices !

I'm trying not to see a few of the bargains coming up now to put a little aside for Black Friday. I'll bet a nickel that on Black Friday I'll be picking up 5 or more Disney UHD BDs.

I don't think that he has been permanently banned. Bans can last longer with each new banning that a forum member incurs or due to the severity of the offense.

From all I can tell there was a dust-up in the Vinegar Syndrome thread or the Halloween Ends thread. I believe two or three people landed themselves an unanticipated vacation about the same time.

We are all only human and sometimes our feathers get ruffled. I hope he returns soon. His permanent absence would leave an irreplaceable void.

HDMI 2.0 source ports are supposed to supply at least 5VDC @ 50mA so one would think a 2.0 cable should work without a inserter. My cable is HDMI 2.1 and requires more current (power) than a 2.0 port can supply. Thought about modifying my AV Access HDMI splitter but took the easy way out (for now).

You really need to add a sub or subs before viewing The Haunting. Helps with the factor.

I know I should add a subby; maybe next year for my birthday. Even without a sub, my vintage Polk SDA-2 floor standers do a pretty good job with bass.

I wonder what gotmule thinks about the new REL Predator II?

I just noticed that ATV4K now supports HDR10+ on some titles. So far, it looks like it's only on those titles that don't have a DV pass. To Kill a Mockingbird 4K has HDR10+ via ATV4K.

My gear doesn't support it, so it's moot point, but for those that do, there you have it.

Definitely a step up or two from the 1508 as they dig deeper than the first version. It would be quite the task to sell the existing six pack up front and flip them to the 1510 though, so will probably hold on to those…..probably.

As much as I've been able to achieve clean flat bass between my 4 subs through my minidsp and MSO app, the addition of Dayton audio pucks as transducers, is easily the biggest bang for my buck tweak I've ever made.... and no, I'm not joking like I was about MONSTER cables..

I originally bought them, as a proof of concept before investing in more expensive BUTT KICKERS. Years later, I've never gotten around to the upgrade. I just can't imagine things getting any better than these dirt cheap pucks. I don't think my body could take anything more!

Some visitors thought I have “Butt Kickers” installed after playing some of the Dolby Atmos demos or my warble tones for them. I do not, the shaking is totally from the subs (HSU).

On a few occasions it has caused problems by shaking the projector. The projector is mounted to the upstairs floor joist (2 x 10), have a 2 x 10 x 18 inch connecting two joist with a 1-½ NPT attached. Could hang several hundred pounds from the projector mount but being strong does not stop it from shaking.

Amazing the power of acoustical resonances.

I hear you. It has taken me countless hours tracking down and eliminating every buzz and rattle caused by my subwoofers. I actually finally tracked down the last one (I hope) a couple of weeks ago.

The transducers are something else all together. I mostly watch movies at reference levels. But around once a week, I'll find myself awake at some ridiculous hour. I've done a pretty decent job of soundproofing my room but at 3 AM, when everyone else is sleeping, I find that I can still achieve that visceral feeling from a soundtrack, at a moderately reduced volume, without shaking a quiet house with bass or resorting to the "night mode" on my amp.

As far as my projector is concerned, shelf mounting my JVC against the back wall of my room eliminated a number of problems that I had from ceiling mounting my previous units. It also allowed me to use a shorter run 9" HDMI (MONOPRICE certified) cable from my stack.

My copies of Top Gun Maverick 4K, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 4K, and Werewolf Woman vs Vampire 4K discs just arrived.

I've watched Halloween '78 4K, Halloween II 4K, and am now watching Halloween III 4K disc as part of my horror movie marathon.

Happy Halloween!

I had a similar setup with my previous projectors that employed a shorter throw. Unfortunately my HT is in my basement, directly underneath a heavily travelled section of my main floor. No matter how much I decoupled, my image would get blurry whenever someone walked through my livingroom.

The impetus for getting the JVC was to go maximum size for a scope sceen. Building out a shelf from my backwall had the side benefit of solving the upstairs traffic issue.

Definitely a good reason to have them if you are up at 3:00 watching something. I have been in a couple of friends rooms where there were transducers, but I think everything was not dialed in correctly for me to say if I liked them. When I am dialing in my system for a new disc going in, I actually evaluate the rear 4 subs purely on feel and what they are doing to both myself and my couch. The visceral impact should still feel natural and realistic to me, and not require me listening to something at launch pad levels to attain.

I've been told by one of the moderators that he'll be back in a few weeks time.

I forgot to mention that I also asked if private messages could be exchanged during the ban, as I wasn't sure if the bans were only for posting on the forum. However it appears not.
