I went to Wal Mart about 12:15 thinking the Cowl edition would be sold out. On the way to the electronics section I saw someone with the cowl edition in their cart, so I remained hopeful. I asked the lady working if there were any left and she went to the back to look. About 5-6 minutes later she came out with one! WOOP!

That's not true.
http://blurayexclusives.blogspot.com/ clearly lists the back as also having 3 hours of extra, also lists the exclusive.

I drove to my 24 hr Wal-mart to see if they had the cowl edition, and they were closed. D'oh. Not sure what was going on -- the employees were standing out front telling people not to go in.

Yes, it is true, but I added the word "unique" before extra to clarify. As for one of the ads (which I said I doubted), see this post further down the page. Note the tortured language : "A Blu-ray disc ..." with the movie, special features, Batmobile doc and Reborn featurette. You couldn't fit all of that on one disc without compressing the hell out of everything.

Weird bummer! At my store, the wife of the employee who got the first (of 2) Cowl editions warned me that "some high school kids" were following them around when they saw that they had a Cowl set. Could there have been an incident at your store? Nobody followed me when I split with mine but people can go crazy when a store gets only two of something they want. Please check the news mañana and let us know.

No. If they didn't match Walmart by now, why do it when they're almost sold out?

walmart near me had 4 of the batcowl editions. Was lucky and got the last one (13,036 of 35,000) with there being a line of about 12 people

That picture looks very questionable with the wrong price also.
I trust the photo of a real product.
And yes, I was really confused by your wording.

Same. I got a copy and then maybe 45 seconds later another man grabbed one after seeing that I had one in my hand. Already sold out by 1am.

I was so disappointed.... went to two different Walmarts and was not able to get a cowl edition from either of them. This was after cancelling my Amazon preorder because it was 47 after taxes and shipping....

Then I come home and see this post. I remembered it showing as coming soon, but I couldnt find it on the site. Searching dark knight rises brought up the fancy page and it wasnt listed....

Finally I searched dark knight, and saw it. "Order now". I clicked it, and placed an order.

I got free expedited shipping for being a silver member. In addition, I was able to apply a thirty dollar reward zone cert that JUST posted to my account today....

grand total after tax: 5.41 shipped expedited to my home in california....

Thank you so much for posting that as I totally forgot best buy had it on their website..... looks like things happen for a reason.

FYI, the iTunes digital copy of Rises is in constant scope aspect ratio, unlike the Knight digital copy that's the IMAX version of the film.

Kind of bummed but it's fine. As much as I LOVE Rises, Knight's IMAX sequences were more carefully thought out than Rises. Feels a bit more organic.
