Oh and thanks to Callas and Big Al for your help
I knew the time would come when it would get sorted out for you. kudos to big al and callas. i love my '30s. can just imagine how the '50's sound with the greater range on low end. back in the day when i got my '30s i could of got RC-70s for $700/pair factory fresh. should of done it.....

Is monoprice.com the best place on the web to get cables and connectors?

Just watched the social network. The bass sounded Excellent and I really liked the movie. I can't wait to see it again once my A2-300 shows up. I feel the CF 50's handle the bass well but, I would rather have a sub handling the low end. I wish I could afford an amp right now but, I guess that's something to look forward to down the road. I am curious to hear the difference in sound between my vsx 1120-k and what an Emotiva XPA3 pushing the CF 50's and CC10 would sound like. I didn't plan on getting rear speakers for a bit but, I am getting the itch to.

yea the bass on the club scene in Social Network when they get to California is really slammin.... you will love the bass in that scene for sure. U should grab the CB5s while they are $100. At least you'll have them.

From my experience I did buy all my cables from them. Never had a problem until I got my Lava subs earlier this month. Both sub cables from monoprice caused both of my new subs to hum. At the time I wasn't sure if my subs were defective or it was my Y-Adapter or sub cables. It was very frustrating for about 72 hours. I decided to go to BB to buy Monster cables. Hooked one of them up, and the humming went away. I found cheaper Monster cables from Amazon and spent about $30 in total for 2 sub cables. I returned the overpriced Monster cables back to BB to get my $100 back, and threw out my monoprice cables.

Other than that, I'll buy speaker wire, HDMI cables, ethernet cables, and banana plugs from monoprice, but I'll stay away from their RCA cables. IMO they seem to be cheap, and they break easy too. BTW, my component cable that I use for the Sony projection is also busted. Only lasted a year.

I was thinking cb-10's for the rears. As much as I would like to get them, I really don't want to go through all the trouble of running the cables. I don't want any visible cables going down my walls and I'm sure running them through the wall would be a pain in the ass, if it's even possible considering one speaker would be mounted in a corner above an archway leading into the kitchen/dining room. This is what makes me think I should just wait until I can finish my basement and make a proper media room.

What would be the better buy for $199.99 a piece?

The Energy CF-30, or the RC-30? I'm sure it would be the later model.

Oh really? The RC series is discontinued I believe, while the CF series is still in the market. I thought the newer products would be slightly better.

And I was probably going to get the matching center channel if I went with either of those.

+1

RC is the Reference Conoisseur lienas the CF is the Conoisseur Floor Line.

RC-30 will blow the CF out of the water.

I think I bought my CC-50 from them while the others I bought from either Ebay, Vanns, or Amazon.

Nice! So the RC series will probably be the one.

I know you mentioned that it should be okay with my CC-100, but will it be that off if I don't get the matching center? Can I actually just live with my CC-100 by not upgrading and just keep the RC-30 as the fronts?

Well I just bit on the RC-30 from Amazon sold by Audio Advisor. Got it before I miss out on a deal that I might regret later on. This should be it as far as HT upgrades. If the C-C100 center doesn't match up well with my new fronts. Then I'm going to buy the matching center when it's on a good sale.

So now, I will move my C-200 bookshelf speakers to surrounds duties.

I'm currently using (1) C-100, and (1) C-C50 as back surrounds to make it a 7.2. Therefore I will have (2) C-100 speakers not being used once I get my new RC-30 speakers.

EDIT:

What am I listening to once I'm done with the speaker setup with the mic and receiver as far as listening to movies. How can I tell if my center and fronts are not matching up well?

the rc-30s should really blow your c-series speakers out of the water. i compared my rc-10s to my c-500s, and the rc-10s won in every category except output. i think you'll really, really like the rc-30s...

you may want to jump on an rc-lcr pretty soon. they can be a bit pricey, anywhere from $400 to $600 new, and at times they can be very hard to find. there's been a supply of them that has just popped up on ebay for around $350, so i jumped on one of those for my bedroom. just got it today, and the thing is a beast...will report back on my first movie watching experience later...

but yeah, the rc-30s will be awesome...the c-c100 should sound pretty good w/ the rc-30s, but what you may notice is slight tonal differences...probably more so in the higher frequencies...as sounds pans from left to right or vice versa...

Use them as Back surrounds and sell the C-C50 I know you have a problem with one of the 4 C-100 you have so you use the C-C50 instead but after you get the RC-30 Use C-200 as surrounds and C-100 ans Back surrounds.

Yeah I think it's from http://www.5stardeal.com. They have several in stock so that will buy me some time if I really need to upgrade my C-C100.

Yeah that was my plan. As for the 1 C-100 that has problems. The tweeter doesn't sound right compared to the other C-100 speakers I have. It works, but not up to par.

Hmmm what to do with my C-C100 if I upgrade to the RC-LCR. I can give my speakers to LeAnn and all she needs is to buy a decent receiver.

Cleaned up my HT/family room tonight so i will take some tomorrow. They are coming I promise!! I get alot of day light in the room as you will see so tomorrow is suppost to be a fairly bright day so they should turn out well I hope! Some day I will have a house with a basement and have a "real" HT room.

You guys have peaked my interest to get that on blu just for that scene. To bad it's $25 here. On Boxing Day (Dec.26th) which is Canada's equal to your US black friday I got Casino Royale and quantum solace for $10 each on blu from Future Shop (owned by best buy). where do you guys buy from?
