Maybe I did see it ... Certainly not with the proper cinematic presentation.
My first was VHS. It was barely watchable.

So tell me (us) what you think of the sound track on the BD. Same for anyone else that gets this title.

I tend to go with the 5.1 track over the 2.0. There are some that prefer that 2.0. I love the Queen soundtrack and own that album (A Kind of Magic), so I'll take it where I can get it. The 4K disc was stellar last night.

At $12.49 from Amazon, it's definitely worth a purchase. IMO

I had first seen the film in the early 90's when it was broadcast over network television and I was floored by how cool it was. A few weeks after that I was at a comic book convention in town and one of the vendors had the Japanese director's cut on VHS (from a Japanese LD dupe) and I purchased it for $20. It was epic!

The other alternate cut of a film he had was for the cyborg Albert Pyun directed films "Nemesis." I also like that film a alot but feel that the ending gets ruined due to the really poor visual effects. He said that the alternate version he was selling had a different final act that got rid of the shoddy visual fx. Obviously I went with Highlander, and to this day, I still haven't watched that alternate cut of Nemesis.

EDIT - I just remembered that I made that Black Friday order with MVD and I did purchase Nemesis and it contains 3 versions of the film. It has the TC, Japanese Cut, and a DC. Holy crap! I guess I know what I will be getting into this weekend!

How much of an improvement is Train To Busan 4K over the Blu-ray?

I just got all of these yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to watch any of them yet. Train To Busan 4K disc was only $14.99 when I bought it, so I could not resist as I really enjoyed this movie. It has trains and zombies in it; what more could a retired passenger railroad conductor want in a movie?

It’s crazy, all these years later and the little boy watching Highlander on VHS with a pot noodle is now the big boy in my HT watching Highlander in 4K with a deep pan pizza!

Thanks for the info, that laserdisc sounds great.

I think REC 2 is to REC what Aliens is to Alien. I also like Train to Busan a lot but really liked the sequel. The 4K of that is stellar.

All great films, but for some comedy relief I'd throw in Peter Jackson's Braindead into the mix. Not the usual kind of zombie film, but hilarious in my opinion. Just a shame there isn't a damn good Blu-ray which I feel the film deserves.

It was very good, it’s in my top 10 for sure.

Rec 3 was a very different film however.

Agreed. I liked REC 4 more, but by then it was sort of too late to course correct.

Lots of brilliant lines right throughout the movie, and I'd say you've quoted one of the best ones.
However just a word of warning, don't buy the Spanish blu-ray. I made that mistake, and even though it was a pressed disc, there were bits of dialogue missing for some bizarre reason. So for the time being, I'll stick with the DVD.

Really good film, yes.

Not quite in my top ten however.

Shaun Of The Dead is in my top 10 however.

Yes, another good one there. I also love the 1968 film Night of the Living Dead by George Romero. Admittedly it doesn't have the gore of today's zombie films, but for pure atmosphere and dread, this still holds up very well for me.

That's where we disagree.

Peninsula may look great, but as a movie I found it to be dull and entirely forgettable. I own the digital copy and I did not feel it was worth buying on disc; it was that much of a disappointment for me.
