I haven't seen the show yet so I will have to pick up the earlier seasons too and watch them first, but it was on sale at Best Buy and I couldn't resist. I also really liked Reminiscence which shared some of the cast and crew.

Speaking of TV shows, I'm curious you guys usually watch them. Do you binge them in one sitting or spread it out over a few days or longer? I'm not really a big TV person (the only show I've watched this year is Outer Range) but being able to have them on disc definitely makes me more inclined to watch them. I will probably pick up House of the Dragon too.
I am a big fan of tv shows on Blu-ray / 4K but rarely watch more than 3 episodes in a row and will often switch shows in the same day. I just finished season 4 of the Sopranos, started the 2nd season of Doom Patrol, and am on episode 8 of the final season of Better Call Saul, which by the way is outstanding.

I haven’t started the 4th season of Westworld yet, but have enjoyed them all with the 2nd season being my favorite so far. The 4K discs all look and sound great.

Sitting on the shelf right now are 37 seasons of various shows waiting to be popped in. Even if I have time for only one episode, I enjoy heading downstairs for that hour, and feel my attitude immediately adjusted.

I only have the first season of West World. Tempting to snag a sale on S4 but not without a plan to acquire the whole kit. I thought S1 was brilliant.

I rarely buy TV on disc or even a streaming version, but these days who can tell anymore between a series or a movie or a video game. If it works it works. I would buy Wednesday. In fact i would buy Cobra Kai if it gets released on something better than DVD. I would buy a lot of these streaming service titles if they got a proper release.

I enjoyed Don't Worry Darling last night.

I have no plans to catch Avatar 2 in theaters mostly because even though my local theater is better now it's not worthy and no one has suggested we drive 1.5 hours to see it at a nice theater which is the only way I would go.

I lost interest in Westworld after season 2. Just didn’t do it for me.

Love the film though.

From 1973 ? Must have a significantly different plot.

Remember the comedy about Westerns with Will Smith ? I don't think I ever watched it but it was on everytime I visited Frys which was often.

We watched it on HBO Max over the weekend since we missed it in theaters. I was actually disappointed. Florence Pugh is one of my favorite actresses at the moment but even she couldn't save it for me. It wasn't bad, but it was very clumsily directed. I think a better director could have done wonders with the material. Script needed some re-writes as well. I may pick it up on sale.

Purchased the UHD Blu-ray (included a Blu-ray) of Cat People and the sound track from both is almost mono. So I copied the Blu-ray version to a MKV and did the same for the DVD. Then I remuxed the two files to a new MKV file using the video from the Blu-ray and the audio from the DVD. The first try the lip sync was off so I delayed the audio 1000 ms which was too much so for the 3rd try I delayed by 500 ms and now the lip sync seems to be on.

Have only spot checked but I believe all is good now. Remuxed using MKVToolNix, here. Next project will be The Sword and the Sorcerer because the Blu-ray audio is almost mono. The DVD audio from these titles appears to be from the original Dolby Stereo. On playback I use Dolby DPLIIx Movie mode on the AVP, will experiment using Dolby Upmixer and DTS Neural X and see how they work.

Purists would use whatever was closest to the original audio. I know you love to tinker, though, and doing so is probably as much fun for you as watching the movie itself.

Wil Wild West, boy that was bad!

The blu-ray.com reviewer agrees with you; he only gave the movie 0.5 stars.

"Winner of five Razzie Awards, including worst picture, worst script and worst director, Wild Wild West hasn't improved with age."

"If, like me, you remember being grossly disappointed when this oversold tentpole finally unspooled in theaters, then save your money. You were right the first time."

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Wild-.../24733/#Review

It didn't fare much better at imdb.com (4.9/10) or at Rotten Tomatoes (28% audience rating, 16% critic's rating).

None of which matters, of course. We like what we like critics be damned!

Actually I consider it a PITA. I can not think of any reason why they would pan the L & R audio to almost mono from the original Dolby Stereo (Lt & Rt) audio for the BD and UHD BD release. If they were monitoring in mono then they may have noticed the loss of audio for the sound effects and panned to almost mono. If that be the case they should have provided a separate mono track. In Dolby Stereo 0° between Lt & Rt is mono (front), 90° is interior sound (front = back) and 180° is back sound, as decoded by a Pro Logic decoder.

A good example is the black panther roar in a cave at the beginning of Cat People. On the BD the roar is pretty much front and center, on the DVD the roar fills the room.

If anyone wants more info I can tell you how to view Lt & Rt on an oscilloscope (must have X, Y capability).

Are you trying to test my vision?

Why does the font size in your post get dramatically smaller as your comment nears its conclusion? Or am I the only one seeing it!? Am I having a reaction to my meds?

Not you, the t in the expression Lt & Rt is supposed to be subscript but this site will not let me do HTML so I tried to use a larger font size for L & R and it made a mess of this when viewed in Chrome, did work in Mozilla (Seamonkey).

The weird part, in the compose window it shows subscripts, superscripts, and other formatting correctly but when posted the formatting is removed. I can do a number of symbols correctly like: °, ¢, ², ®, →, ∝, ≈, π, Ω and others.

Even your posts are complicated. For what it is worth, I give you an "A" for effort.
