But I will wait for more news, maybe it will get better.
This is the good news:

Are you guys going to have some creative control and make this a kick-ass film?

Tony: Yes!

Tony and Ridley are the two that seem to be able to get good movies out of FOX. But your right. We'll have to wait for more info

If Hollywood has the balls to remake one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time, make it be faithful to the original, or THERE WILL BE BLOOD!!!

EW has confirmed that an origins story for the 1979 sci-fi classic is being actively developed. But who will direct the high-profile project? Ridley Scott planned to produce -- but not direct. Instead, he tapped first time filmmaker Carl Rinsch, best known for his futuristic TV commercials. (It's rumored Rinsch is romantically linked to Scott's daughter, Jordan; neither returned calls for comment.) But Fox, the studio that owns the rights to the franchise, seems to have other ideas. Sources tell EW that the studio is not interested in greenlighting a prequel unless Scott himself takes the helm.

OP Note: Since this is a prequel, it has been stated that Ripley or Sigourney Weaver will NOT be making an appearance.
I wonder if it will have to do with that planet before the Aliens took over.

That would be one boring movie considering the planet had no life on it prior to humans going over and terraforming it in Aliens. The crashed ship from the original Alien was not from the planet.

Man, some of you guys need to go back and watch Alien and Aliens again

Just another reason a prequel scares me....imagine the guy they get to do it doesn't understand that simple fact, and they base the entire movie on the ideal that the Aliens are actually from that planet?

.........I'd want to KILL somebody...

I just dont understand why they just wont leave this franchise alone. Other fanbases already use Alien as an exampkle of how hollywood can rape the franchise, and yet they continue with it. I dont know whats worse, a remake or a prequel. A remake is just bad all the way through, and the prequel - One of the greatest elements in alien series is that we didnt know anything about the space jockey. what he was, what happened etc. Now theyre gonna demystify all that.
