For those not old enough to remember, Leno got his big break on Letterman when he was on NBC where he was a regular. The jokes he told back then were hilarious and had more of an edge to them. Once he got the Tonight Show gig the jokes were more mainstream. Haven't watched Conan in a while but he was hilarious for years and had some great recurring characters. He got off to a rough start but eventually hit his stride.
