I would say Star Trek remakes need to go. Too bad that choice was not up there. Also any film that overrated hack Peter Jackson makes/ Rings/ Hobbit etc.

I let my wife read your post. She asked if I agreed with you, and now I'm in the doghouse.

Anime is dope! The stories are generally well made. some good Anime films are: Spirited Away, Princess Moninoke, Animatrix, Ghost in a Shell, Ninja Scrolls, etc. I def prefer Anime to american cartoons.

It looks like the movie going public has already decided to kill drama. Seeing a non-High Concept movie in the multiplex is next to impossible. Plus, when one does come out, the public stays away in droves and gives their money to Paul Blart and his ilk. Like the old saying goes, the public gets what the public deserves.

Agreed.

They all have their places, and romantic comedies have saved many a guy spending TOO much time with the girlfriend {unless they got suckered into watching them with the girlfriend}

Other: Romantic Comedy (how could you have forgotten this garbage genre?)...

Comedy Spoof is a close second, but it was at least a genre that used to be good: Airplane!, Naked Gun, Spaceballs.

Like previous posters have suggested though, having multiple genres creates diversity which is good. So the aforementioned are more like my least favorite movie genres and not really ones I'd like to disappear.

i think a better wording would have been "what is your least favorite movie genre"

SPOOF COMEDIES + Twilight

That's all that I'd get rid of. I see merit in every other form a of cinematic creativity.

Wow, DVDave! I'm surprised that you didn't say "all of them." After all, you do hate everything.

Spoof comedies are just plain pointless; I mean Scary Movie was decent, but Meet The Spartans and Disaster Movie were definitely infamous for being just stupid. I really wanted both films to share the Worst Picture Razzie award.

I say we don't stop any genre. There's a reason all these genres exist. People watch them, and it's a free world.

Well ones from Mel Brooks are awesome like Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Young Frankenstein, and Spaceballs to name a couple but however ever since other people started making spoof comedies like Disaster Movie, Superhero Movie, Meet the Spartans, and some of these other newer spoof series just seemed to have killed the spoof comedy genre that was made popular because of Mel Brooks awesome movies.

But however the spoof anime series are pretty descent and fun to watch.

Spoof Comedy and Ultra-Violence (Saw, Hostel).

I feel as if people are slowly getting wise to this though.
