Without any close competition it's Psycho. They kill the main character half way through the movie.

Michael Biehn and Carrie Henn in "Alien 3"

Damn near all the Transformers that died in the Animated movie from '86. I remember telling my friends about the movie and they were pissed!!! I remember saying "Once you turn grey, you're dead!!!"

Personally, Harry Dean Stanton in "Alien". I figured he would get yacked but I was not prepared to see HOW he was going to get killed. I saw "Aliens" first and there was no indication about any Alien impaling their victims with their second mouth. When I witnessed Brett getting yacked in the head, I was in total disbelief and scared to death.
