Default Blu-ray is selling out (literally)

I was in my nearby Target store.(3 miles from a Best Buy). They had 4 titles which were completely sold out. Their bins were empty. I've never seen it this picked over before.

I live 2 miles from a large military base. Two bins are dedicated to Black Hawk Down. There is only one copy of Black Hark Down left now; very soon there will be 5 Blu titles will be sold out.

The HD-DVD bins all had a minimum of 4 left per bin.

I'd say Blu was 25 percent sold out there.

Same true here for my Target, but it's more a case of Target stocked 2 copies of any given BD disc except Pursuit of Happyness. [Which they believed would need 20 copies ... ]

Correct...they only restock once every 2 to 4 weeks and when they do they only get 1 or 2 copies in of any given movie, and only some movies at a time, never all of the ones that are not in stock...far from a demand issue...unfortunately.

The Target in my area never has much of anything. I don't remember buying a single title from them.

I try to support Target by buying a lot of my BDs there. (I get a lot of bonus gift cards from work and other things and want to spend them on something I want as opposed to something I need, like toothpaste or something) I shop there about two to three times a week and not always the same one. The BD look like they are moving pretty well, but sometimes I think they only get one copy at a time. I bought the Messengers the day that it was out and was there when they opened. They had one copy out, but two days later they had another copy out. Don't know if they are just putting out one at a time or what. The newest movies seem to be wiped out pretty quickly. As a side note, one Target took down their Wii display on an endcap and replaced it with a PS3 display with accessories and Blu-ray movies.

I rarely pickup a title from Target. However, they put out Rocky Balboa a few days early. Only one copy and I got it. I felt special.

I have a new place, Movie Stop, that I go to. They try to beat Amazon's price by $1. Excellent store. They also accept trade-in's for cash or store credit. I believe they are owned by the company running Game Stop.

I'm in Florida.

ya i go to wal-mart all the time to get blu-rays and they always have about twenty titles. And i was talking to one of my friends that works there and he said they sell alot of blu-rays everyday. Also they get new shipments in everyday so when they are sold out one day i can go the next and get the movie i want
