"10 Items or Less" was very good.
I was surprised by how much I liked it. Truly not my type of movie (my taste is well known by now ) but I started watching it because of him and was pulled in rather quickly. He is a very good actor, often very overlook.

I give Mos Def the up-and-comer vote.
He's held a good range of character and leading roles in a pretty solid and diverse string of movies:

Spike Lee's Bamboozled = his controversial movie

Carmen: A Hip Opera = his crappy ensemble movie

Monster's Ball = His crappy Oscar movie

Showtime = his crappy Eddy Murphy movie

Brown Sugar = his crappy chick flick

The Italian Job = his crappy (gag me) remake

The Woodsman = his quiet, little indie picture

It's like he got all his crappy movies that it seems like everybody has to do out of the way first. "Do the stuff you gotta do before you do the stuff you wanna do." Now, he has the rest of his career to do nothing but movies he wants, if he plays his cards right.

So far, he's done pretty good:

-Something the Lord Made

-Lackawanna Blues

-Hitchhiker's Guide

-16 Blocks

-Chapelle Show

-Be Kind Rewind

-Cadillac Records (his Chuck Berry was amazing)

-Next Day Air

They may not all be instant classics, but it seems like he's doing what he wants.

So not to flame or anything, but does P@t have one or 2 t's? Just wondering, because I think it would be rather refreshing if it had 2.

I wonder why Hollywood stopped needing Cuba Gooding Jr. The man's got an Oscar, but has hardly been in anything worth watching in the last 10 years. His 90's resume was pretty impressive

Though I'm not a fan of her work I'd go with Kate Winslet, at least as the most critically-acclaimed actress. 4 Oscar nominations with 1 win, 5 BAFTA nominations with 1 win, and 5 Golden Globe nominations with 1 win.

He does it because he loves it. He is a true working actor and I've seen Morgan in mainstream and independent films.

Also, sometimes a role and film look good on paper but just are not executed well in production.

based on personal opinion of the films in the 2000s
i'd say Christian Bale is also my pick, easily.

Equilibrium
Reign of Fire
Laurel Canyon, which is not my typical movie at all, but for some reason i liked it
Batman Begins
The Prestige
3:10 to Yuma
The Dark Knight
Terminator Salvation
and looks to be Public Enemies

Uwe Boll

Peter Jackson for director
Brad Pitt for actor
Kate Winslet for actress
New Line for best studio (because they had the balls to put out Lord of The Rings)

For me its Christian Bale hands down. Look at the movies he has been in, hardly a dud on there and some great ones as well. The guy gets alot of flack, but his resume is impressive to me...

American Psycho 2000
Reign of Fire 2002
Equilibrium 2002 (underrated gem!)
The Machinist 2004
Batman Begins 2005
Harsh Times 2005
Rescue Dawn 2006
The Prestige 2006
3:10 to Yuma 2007
TDK 2008
T4 2009
Public Enemies 2009 ( haven't seen yet, but looks good....)

Quantity and quality matters!
I agree! Great Resume! Also, i just saw Equilibrium! That movie is amazing and way underratted!

I also agree that R. Crowe has done great lately too!
