We're not into the next year yet technically. Since one episode went out free to everyone this episode (13) is the last in the annual subscription (hmmmm wonder if E3 was pushed back intentionally?).

I wouldn't expect to see a price change or drop for the annual subscription until the July episode hits live - though if they are going to do a discount for those resubscribing maybe we'll see an email ahead of time.

What happens if you subscribe to Qore, and then at some point during the year Sony puts out one of their free episodes for everyone? Do subscribers get an extra episode beyond that then?

Been a subscriber the whole first year and no, you get the same episode as everyone else. BUT you will get the BETAS, free themes, free games, that are in that episode that unsubscribers WON'T get.

That clear things up for you?

You get High Velocity Bowling for free with the Annual Subscription this month, so that should pay for the free episodes.

However, I already own it, but I figure might as well get it as there could be something down the pipes later on that I'll regret not having a subscription.

WAY worth it. I wish I could find that list of everything we got the first year of Home. We got pretty much every BETA but Fat Princess basically handed to us. It was awesome.

* Episode 3 (Aug. 2008): Invitation to the Resistance 2 Beta.

But if subscribers don't resubscribe now how will they get the next issue and access to the extras that come with it?

You know I copy and paste those lists and don't take the time to write it out myself, right? So the person I copied and pasted from forgot calling all cars.

HVB has been free for Qore members for a few months. Don't get me wrong, Calling All Cars, Linger, and HVB were great - but they depend on if you already had the game (HVB I already had).

Your comment I bolded is probably what we make me come back this year. There were at least one or two annual rewards that were announced after the "need to be subscribed" cutoff date. Since the cost isn't a ton of cash to me, i'll probably re-up anyway.

Not sure the list is entirely accurate on what was annual only (it may be more), but I cut it down to the annual subscriber benefits - keep in mind though that some of those benefits could be obtained if you sign up annually when that specific offer comes up. That's more the point I'm trying to make - what's the incentive for annual subscribers to sign up for another full year with Episode 14 and not 15 or 16 when something strikes their fancy? I'm not saying Qore has to do it, but I will be very surprised if they didn't.

Not sure how this will work either. I assume that they won't be looking for us to actually purchase the new year's subscription until closer to or when Episode 14 releases, but I don't see how they are going to bill it seperately - if I had to guess maybe we'll get a code that we "redeem", but also requires us to pay the discount price. I haven't ever seen a redemption code that wasn't completely free, but that's the only technical way I can imagine them doing it with the existing store. (Or maybe they can make the store detect which PSN ids are eligible and only display the discount version to them)

Pretty funny timing. I haven't seen anything yet myself, but that has been the Qore MO - send an update email indicating something is coming and then a few days/weeks later send the email with the code (that was how Siphon Filter and Uncharcter were for me).

I'm assuming the email didn't indicate cost? Just that it's coming?

I don't know if any of you got the survey, but the one I got a few months back asked how likely I would be to purchase another year's subscription at several different price points - two of which were $19 and $17 I believe. (Of course I also indicated on my survey that I was a playstation magazine annual subscriber and that several episodes showing up in my $18.00 a year magazine subscription really changed how much a valued the actual monthly Qore content.)

Don't get me wrong guys, overall I'm fairly happy with Qore. $25 a year happy when I can get 2 years of Playstation Magazine for $30 on amazon? That's a little more debatable. But in the end I'll probably pick it up - I definitely felt like I got my money's worth this year when I add in Calling all Cars, Linger in Shadows, SF, and Spyro. I guess it just mainly about trusting we'll continue to see the same level of content over the coming year.

Has anyone noticed though that some of the more recent episodes haven't been as beefy content-wise as the first few were? (Or is it just me?) Not enough of a change for me to pass, but I remember the first half of the year there were frequently two video reports per section along with other artwork and such, and more lately it's just been one.

No price, just to check future e-mail for special renewal offer coming soon.

And I also did that survey. I hope they will bring it down to 17$ for us.

3*13= $39 - 3 for the free episode unless there was 2 then we are still talking 33 dollars..

Me thinks...

But I got a interesting email...

The extras have been the only good thing to me so far...the "magazine" itself has not been impressive at all, the format of it is interesting but there's a serious lack of content inside.

Focus on 2 or 3 games an episode, 1 or 2 videos talking about each game, not much info.

I'd say the extras were worth the subscription, and I'll probably do it again, but I was especially disappointed with episode 13...

And they SERIOUSLY need to make it easier to download each new episode instead of going back a full YEAR on my download list just to find the new one, and that takes a while...especially with all my Rock Band purchases (unless there already is an easier way that I don't know of...anyone?)

I agree with you! is really a pain to go back check our downloaded list to get our episode.

Also for the episode before most of the renewall, its really bad... I hope they would have longer interview with more content and add some video review too.

They pulled a entire section from the episode 13, originally there was a section on psp go..

I don't feel like they were able to replace the content that should have been there, but so far my subscription has paid for itself.

Glad I'm not the only one this bugs - with 174 entries currently in my DL list, this is a pain every time. I'm assuming at least that the new year will all sit on the new subscription date - so at least for a little while it will be near the top.

Thoroughly crappy episode. Seriously, WHY did we have to wait nearly 3 weeks if they didn't include any E3 coverage whatsoever?

I'm not really interested in inFamous or Fight Night, so all I watched was the Frag Doll segment, mostly because I they're also girl-gamers. Good for them I guess, but the segment isn't enough to warrant Qore 13 continuing to take up space on my hard drive. The only thing of interest was the Home t-shirt. I'll check out Spyro because it's free, but it's not something I would have ever thought of buying otherwise.
