For looks alone, IMO it's a tossup between Marantz and Pioneer Elite.

And isn't it ironic that they both are such great performers as well!

And for these 2 reasons, these are the 2 brands I'll be shopping whenever I upgrade my current Onkyo receiver.

Don't get me too excited!! lol It'll still be a few months down the road before I'm able to seriously look at an upgrade.

ARCAM AVR 600 in Silver

Or in Charcoal grey.

MSRP is $4995
I've been drooling over the AVR600 ever since I saw it in your setup. This one easily gets my vote.

Dude! This is the second post I just read from you. Did you just win the lottery or get an inheritance.

by no means a $3000 to $5000 (lol it's only $500) it is still visually appealing. i love the way this Sony STR-DN1000 looks, incredibly sleek

honestly, to me the arcam looks kinda cheap, although we know it is not. this is all a matter of personal opinion though.....different folks, different strokes etc

It's supposed to be released in July as well, and it is a great breakaway receiver from the look that Sony has adopted for quite awhile now. Very nice looking receiver which will soon be available.

I had thought about going with this receiver until an irresistible Pioneer Elite SC-05 deal came around! Can't say I'm not happy with my SC-05!

So then by the same logic, the other receivers in this thread look great, but are cheap?

j/k I happen to think HK and the Elites are among the nicest looking units out there. I'd probably go with either of these if I were in the market. That Sony is a beaut, too.

Good move, Crackin, setting the receiver on the bed to take pics. It makes it look that much sexier.

I didn't mean to dangle it in front of you like a carrot

The earlier prototypes of the AVR 600 had the FMJ logo- meaning FULL METAL JACKET or as Arcam Markets it now its "Faithful Musical Joy" pictures doesn't really give this receiver justice. It just has a different appeal in person.

The Arcam has been getting rave reviews- especially if you build a system geared toward the pursuit of the best musical fidelity. Not to mention its amps rival separates.

Well, in that case, if the OP finds the right dealer, the Arcam can be had for less than 4k.
