Although I’m not a regular a connoisseur of extras, this one looks interesting and informative; I'll definitely check it out.

Outwardly admitting that I love the graphic novel, as well as this movie (saw it 4 times in the theater with various people, wife, brother, friends, etc); I can't understand how people call this movie crap.

I CAN understand not liking it, or not getting into it; but Zac Snyder just does some really really cool things, and watching this feature just shows us how clever he can be to get the visual he wants.

This was one of my favorite scenes of the movie. Eddie's reminiscing about Sally in a broken and vulnerable form mildly drinking some tea, Nate King Cole's "Unforgettable" and then the assailants fight with Eddie, just creates this awesome dynamic.

Can't wait for the Amazon.com Night Owl Bluray!

That's the problem with the current cut released in the theaters, it's all visuals, and the main problem is there are too many characters. The movie can't choose which one to focus on. It jumps from characters to characters, leaving the audience as soon as they are getting into the head of one, to another. The burial scene for example is absurd, why do we cut to the two Silk Spectres right in the middle of it ? As if the flashback weren't enough ?
If say, the movie had taken a stand, and made Rorsarch the main character, it would have been much better. As it stands, the movie doesn't emotionaly involve the audience, it kept them at distance, with only flashy visuals left to care about.
But perhaps the DC, with the newsstand scenes added, make it all suddenly work. That's why I'm awaiting both longer cuts with impatience.

This extra feature looks like a film students wet dream come true!!!

I literally get the feeling as though I'm a student at a very special lecture by a real life Hollywood filmmaker.

I really want to see this as an in-movie feature from now on for future films. So far most in-movie "experiences" have been hardly worth checking out.

Here's how it works: You watch the major motion picture entitled Waiting..., while McKittrick and Balis use an electric pen and freeze-frame/rewind technology to behave all sarcastic and snarky-like, stopping periodically to share a production story that's either (relatively) interesting or downright silly. Some would call this sort of extendo-commentary "overkill" for this type of movie, but hey, let's hear it for the Waiting... fans getting their money's worth, eh? (By using the rewind and freeze options, McKittrick and Balis turn a 93-minute movie into a 130-minute commentary presentation. Heh.)
Not exactly like this, but maybe this crossed with the various PIP extras we've seen on Blu (or the "Infinifilm" extras that New Line did on various titles).

So I've been thinking about this feature and greatly looking forward to it, but I have one concern. From looking at the clip posted it is obvious that this will be more than just a PiP track, and could very well be a separate encode of the film with Zack Snyder and all the transitions in it. Kind of like how the PiP track for The Decent was done.

If this is true we are looking at over 5 hours of hi-definition video being encoded onto what I am assuming will be a 50gb disc. My concern is that the video transfer for the movie itself will be compromised due to a lack of disc space.

Of course we won't know until some folks get the actual disc in their hands so hopefully these concerns will be unfounded. Just something to consider.

Because that's how the original story is structured. Some things they felt needed to be changed in the adaptation (the ending), but this was not one of them.

Ensemble pictures don't need a single "main character". To define a single one among them as "more important" belittles the value of the ensemble.

If you don't like the way it is structured or the fact that it relies on the ensemble, you will like the "ultimate" cut even less.

5 hours can fit on a 50GB disc and still look good, depends on the source and encode. They could always just have overly low bitrates on the video source for the extra to ensure the main feature gets a high enough bitrate. Heck, could be SD even. Would be fine with me.

My hopes came true, apparently, Rorsarch is back as the main character in the movie in the longer cut, the glue that hold it all. Most additions adresses all the problems I had with the theatrical cut. Can't wait to hold the blu-ray in my hands !

This mode is going to be a great addition to the movie. I am always a fan of a director's point-of-view on a movie, so with a movie like Watchmen, we can expect a great alternative to just a basic audio commentary.
