Which makes me wonder how he got back in his possesion when he gives it to RA. I better get busy rewatching those shows, the next season will start and I won't be caught up at this rate.
I think he gave it to Richard so that Richard could give it to John so that John could give it to Richard, and then Richard would KNOW John was special, and visit him when he is young, etc. etc. I still wonder if Richard is "immortal" or if he is just another embodiment of the two we know of for sure, just as we came to find out that Christian isn't really still alive (or having come BACK to life.) Though that begs the question of what actually happened to Claire, since Christian is the one that managed to drag her off by her own delirium-induced volition....

I was watching S2 this past week, and thought it was strange the Dr. Marvin Candle (or whatever his name was in this particular orientation video) had use of both hands in the Pearl station video. Then I noticed the copyright date was 1980, which is definitely after the "incident". Intentional or continuity error? Discuss.

maybe Cuselof wrote themselves into a corner. Like with Charlotte's year of birth changing from season 4, or the Apple II's showing up at the DI in 77

Are you sure that the incident was before 1980? Didn't Sawyer, Juliette, Hugo and Jin get stuck in '77 and hang around for several years before some of the O6 came back to them and the incident finally occurs?

I believe you are correct. It has been approx. 3 years in Jack's time, so it would likely be the same period of time for Sawyer, etc. However, I rather thought that based on the clothing they were wearing when they ended up back in '77 seemed a little older, but I'm just a youngin' that is going by what I see in old-timer's movies....

Sawyer, Juliet, et al ended up in Darmaville circa 1974, which was 30 years before the crash of Oceanic 815 and 20 years after the run-in with Jughead. Jack, Kate, Hurley, & Sayid showed up 3 years later in 1977....example: Hurley talked about STAR WARS having just been released and that he was writing a slightly improved 'The Empire Strikes Back' to make it easy on George Lucas. If it had been 1980 the film would already be finished (if not released.)

If the bomb actually went off, it would cause a time paradox, because if the plane never crashes, the bomb itself would never go off... but it did go off... that's a paradox. I think the ending was made to look like it went off when it really didn't, or the writers might have something up their sleeve...
