I want Routh back for another. I'm part of the minority that liked him as Superman.

I posted the green Lantern script review months ago. It talked about it back then.

I may give it a read, I'm trying to decide if I want to go into this movie spoiler free or knowing everything I can.

I've been wanting a Green Lantern film for a long time, just not one with Justin Timberlake

Ah, since we were discussing (potentially) a quick Superman sequel, I misinterpreted his statement that The Fantastic Four had a direct to video sequel.

Indeed. Returns was such a beautiful, heartfelt, and classically staged adventure film. I could not have hoped for a better Superman film.

I've always felt it was silly of WB to give Batman a sequel even though Singer's film made more money worldwide. Undoubtedly it would have made more with a better release date farther away from Pirates and this likely wouldn't have been an issue. Yes, it cost more (a little over $200M, not the absurd $300M price tag some sites report) but it was also a bigger film with over 1,400 complicated effects shots and the testing of new flying rigs and equipment, not to mention the largest hydraulic gimble ever used on a film I believe. Of course it's going to cost more. Singer's intent was always to make a leaner and meaner action sequel for around $150 million. Perhaps they'll give him a shot at that now. Let's just hope they bring back Singer or at least a decent creative director and not Brett Ratner.

I would not mind if both came back, I tought Superman Return was a good movie. It would be better if they made an original movie this time around and leave behind the 70's hommage, bring in Darkseid or Doomsday and just have them have a go at Superman.

It was a joke. The guy I quoted posted 2 back-to-back posts in 1 minute saying he wanted Routh back.

I think Superman Returns was alright. It had to get all the characters explained and setup the next movie. It did that...

I want to see the 2nd film that should have action/world threat and something Superman actually has to 'work' to defeat...

Singer is a fine directory. I think X2 was brilliant as a sequel and would expect similar for Superman.

Routh was also fine...
