There is a new study out from the medical world, took years of research and cost billions to figure it out but after all this time and money, doctors can now say for certain that life will kill you one day.

I read a study that said being a couch potato can be beneficial. It increases your knowledge of celebrities, keeps you up-to-date on sports, improves your hand-eye coordination, and lowers your level of stress, which has been linked to heart disease and obesity.

We all knew this already!!!!

Anyway, instead of watching a BD when I get home from work, I started playing basketball again. I really want to watch my movies, but that feeling of going out there and playing is very exciting.

I'm trying to cut back on soda, and a lot of things but it's too hard when it's all around you

Exercise everyday for what? So I could live to 90 instead of 80? No thanks. I don't want to be living in a wheelchair in anticipation of a stroke/heart attack while suffering from alzheimer's.

You may feel differently when you're 80. Exercising isn't just about living longer. It's about raising the quality of your life, for however long that is. Believe me, I've been at both ends of the spectrum. I became a much MUCH happier person when I lost my weight and got in shape. I had more self confidence, more energy, I became more social, women began to actually notice me, I performed better at work and.....ahem.....in other areas, etc. There was just no comparison between the two life styles.

I can respect someone not wanting to be fat. Luckily I don't have to worry about that. I'm a couch potato and I'm pretty fit.

Well if you are in your 30's, a couch potato, and claim you are fit then you either....

a.) Eat like a mouse
b.) Have the metabolism of hummingbird
c.) defy all scientific studies regarding the link to weight gain and lack of physical activity
d.) All of the above.

Plus remember, just because you're skinny doesn't mean you're fit.

e.) I'm asian, in which genetics probably has a huge factor in it. and I used to do a lot of athletics(competitive boxing, varsity football in HS) back in the day. I still participate in small-time sporting events with family/friends once in a while (football, basketball). But yeah surprisingly, I've retained a good portion of my figure when I used to exercise and train heavily back then.

BTW I eat like a pig too. Yesterday I had a 1lb burger from Fuddruckers. I don't do that too often though lmao.

Good to know you don't do that too often. I'm all for indulging @ meals but even when you're young, thin, and (seemingly) fit, you can still develop heart disease, or worse, suffer a stroke.

Asians are becoming increasingly susceptible to diabetes, and are actually more susceptible than Caucasians for heart disease. (Yes, I work in medicine.)
