tang I am at BB r ight now the only 1 left is missing the remote for 4$139 are you interested I have 2 51fds at home i can toss in 1 of my remotes if thisworks for you. also the serial does not fall in the recall range

um, how do u get multi region DVD/BD on ur Oppo? I was under the impression that it was locked.

It doesnt play all regions for BDs but it does for dvds...you can check out the thumbnail underneath...

A little info for anybody else on the cusp about buying a Pioneer BDP-51/Elite 05 model. The newer Pioneer 320/Elite 23s are Profile 2.0 players but they are made in Malyasia not Japan, weigh 6 lbs not 12+ lbs, and have been neutered of their Wolfson D/A converters.

The 51FD is slow but it has one of the best pictures of ANY Blu-ray player and sound quality that can only be bettered by upscale CD players($700.00+), Pioneer's Elite BDP-09, and the top of the line Denon($2000.00).

My 51 FD sounds damn near as good as my Arcam FMJ23 cd player. This is no small feat in that I own a very high resolution system concicting of a Krell KAV 400xi integrated amplfier, Dynaudio Contour 1.3SE speakers, the Arcam CD player, Pioneer BDP-51 Blu-ray and a 46" Samsung TOC LCD TV.

If you are willing to make some sacrifice for extreme performance then you know what to do.
