I've enjoyed the franchise but I am not a fan of 3D. I wish they wouldn't fall into this trap.

One of the worst movie series in history. They ended the first 2 movies the exact same way in the exact same room!, and the 3rd one was terrible. I wish I hadn't seen those 3.

Honestly Saw should have ended with the 3rd one. If not the first would have been suffice.

I hate the writers. I mean these guys are Ferris and Brancato f'in' up Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines & Terminator Salvation bad. Honestly, since David Hackl's directing, it could be good, but given he directed Saw V, which had the worst story of them so far; he could be a good director. Honestly; the only people benefiting from this is James Wan and Leigh Whannell, possibly Leigh but I am not sure, since they created the story for the first film. You'd think Twisted Pictures execs would go online and get opinions from fans and listen to the fans on what they want for a Saw and not this garbage.

I have seen all of them and will continue to see them every year that they make them. I am not a diehard Saw fan but Saw has created its own mold. I like how people are not impressed after the first one. I still think it is its own original franchise.

Have I missed a movie with the same type of plot?

I've only seen part 1. Not sure if I'm missing out on anything, but they just didn't look that interesting.

I just wish that in just one of the films, the test subject survives. For f***sake, you cannot just keep killing the poor bastards, man. It just makes it so stupid. I'm having high hopes that whoever is tested makes it out because it's like a Scooby-Doo routine in every film now.

Oh God. I'm a Saw fan but for the love of God, make it stop!
They said from the beginning that there was going to be 9 total movies.

As much as I am a fan of this series, I am ready for it to end. Saw 6 was really good and I'm eagerly awaiting Saw 7 but I'd really like the series to be ended with 7. I'm not excited to hear that Hackl is coming back to direct again since 5 was the worst of the series, there wasn't even a twist ending.

Looks like it's getting nasty, Kevin Greutert, who directed Saw VI was scheduled to direct Paranormal Activity 2 and Lionsgate had an option to hold him back from any films and is forcing him to direct Saw VII. David Hackl, director of Saw V, is now out of the job.

http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/sa...10-box-office/

Quote:
It's a move that ratchets up the rivalry between Paramount and Lionsgate for Halloween 2010 dominance. Saw franchise partners Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate have just exercised a contractual option and installed Saw VI director Kevin Greutert as director of Saw 3D, the seventh volume of the fright series. He was hired just 2 weeks before shooting will begin, which doesn't leave a lot of prep time. But the goal was to block Paramount, which had hired Greutert to direct Paranormal Activity 2. Because both films are now set for release on October 22nd, and the move came after Paramount set that date. Meanwhile Twisted Pictures, which has held an option on the director from back when he helmed Saw VI, bumped previously announced Saw 3D director David Hackl, who directed Saw V and who will be assigned another film quickly, sources tell me. Both directors have been involved in the Saw films from the beginning. The rivalry between the films began last fall, when Paramount's sleeper hit Paranormal Activity bloodied Twisted/Lionsgate's Saw VI at the box office en route to a $150 million worldwide gross on a $15,000 budget. It will be interesting to see how Paramount responds. But I like this battling a lot.

After posting on his blog just how devastated he was at this announcement all but one entry have been taken down from Kevin Greutert's blog...

http://www.kevingreutert.com/?cat=1

"Day 1
This blog has gotten thousands more hits in the last few days with nothing on it than it did in the entire previous month with hundreds of posts. Very exciting!

Get ready for a major announcement here in the near future."

Considering Hackl had been prepping Saw VII since September , Greutert's got four months of work to cram into two weeks. Granted, James Wan had less time to prep with Saw. This ultimately comes down to whether Greutert is as resourceful a director as Wan was and whether his heart is really in it.

I only hope he doesn't take his hostility out on the movie and its fans. Granted, it was mean of Lionsgate to wait until January to pull this on Greutert. They've should've been listening to the fans from the very beginning and pulled Hackl from Saw VII when they saw the fan response to VI in October. Greutert wouldn't have gone looking for another job and Hackl wouldn't have wasted more than a few weeks of his time (better than a few months).

On Twisted Pictures behalf, yes. It was a dick move, straight up. They forced Gruetert to do Saw VII because he was going to be making another film, Paranormal Activity 2, over at Paramount.

(Golly, would it kill this franchise to consider at least using a subtitle?)
Im glad they have not started adding subtitles to them. Keep giving them numbers only.

I think the first three were great. Really fresh and unique, but after that it got silly, with the story clinging on for too long. I have not seen the sixth entry, but I'm guessing it will reveal only a pinch of the story line, and have tons of gore covering the plot holes, which shouldn't be there. But, I'll still watch the sixth entry, and the following entries, especially if they are in 3D, because I'm a massive fan. But, if they don't finish off the story once and for all, and properly, I will be massively disappointed.
