Default Sony or Sony or Samy?

I have been looking and shoppimg till my brain hurts and cannot make up my mind. I will be buying soon. Sony PS3 or Sony BDP-S300 or Samsung BD-P1200. I am more concered with picture quality than audio. As I have an older Pionner reciever 7.1 channel has optical in for the audio. I will run the Video via HDMI into my mitsubishi HD1000u projector.. I do play games somtimes so the PS3 comes in to play in this. 90% will be movies. Help me.

Take this as my blanket advice to anyone who does not want to spend for another BD player in the next two years: get a PS3.

Upgradable, media centric and games. Does a fast slideshow of your photos too synced with music as well.

I agree with fuad. Even more so if you do play the occasional game.

PS3. Constantly being tweaked/improved by regular fimware updates. Plus all the reasons already mentioned.

Yes PS3 all the way (this from someone who has played with standalones as well)... what everyone here said, plus it loads discs fast... way faster than anything else (I'm not a patient man).

Sony designed their system with the intent of it being in your home for the next 8-10 years potentially. They built it so it can be upgraded constantly and it has every function that you would want in a blu-ray player already. If it comes out with one "killer app" or game you will have been repaid over buying a stand-alone player. Good luck.

LOL I just did the same!

Have been putting it off for a while now, but now with the 1.8 update and the $100 price drop and the soon to be unavailable backwards compatibility, pulled the trigger.
