I heard this rumor a while back and they're actually following up with it?

I honestly think Interview with the Vampire was fantastic and had a good cast too. I don't see any need for a remake or reboot. They released that crappy movie with Aayliah afterwards and who considers that even a sequel? It has no mention to anything else and Tom Cruise wasn't a bad Lestat. I thought he was pretty good. Not often we get Cruise in villainous roles.

I meant to have a question mark at the end of the title, oops. Lestat isn't a villain, he's just not much of a team player. Rice has actually mentioned that her late husband Stan Rice was the inspiration for Lestat, which is why when he died she stopped writing the Vampire Chronicles.

Ah really? Never knew that. I never read the books to be honest but I loved the movies. It's funny Anne was against the casting of Cruise but learned to appreciate him afterwards.

Though in the Interview with the Vampire, he's not your typical good guy either. I wouldn't even say anti hero, because he doesn't do anything heroic or good.

I never got why Brad Pitt wanted to become a vampire if he was in pain because of his family's death?

Louis Pont du Lac is one of the most reluctant and whiny vampires ever, I never really got the point to him either, other than to be Lestat's second "child".

I always took it that he didn't want to become a vampire, he wanted to die to end his suffering... and Lestat chose to make him a vampire, thus making him one of the earliest emo-kids ever!

I wouldn't say whiny. Twilight is made for that.

He's sort of supposed to be the balance between Lestat, he just doesn't believe in killing people and doing bad things that Lestat believes in. He's a good man at heart and he can't embrace the vampire life style.

But if he wanted to end his suffering wouldn't he have just died? Why become semi-immortal, that makes things worse. I need to see the movie again.

I'm not a mod...Lestat isn't a man and neither is Louis. You think Lestat is bad? Read the Vampire Lestat and learn about his mother, she is a cold-blooded hunter who relishes the kill and distances herself from others. Lestat is an open person who actually doesn't kill that much because he now has the strength of the oldest vampires inside him, which also means he won't die in the sunlight.

I can't wait for all the tweens to start a letter war because Interview is nothing more then a ripoff of Twillight which we all know clearly created vampires and werewolf

So would Downey be able to make Lestat cool, or does he have to stick to the extreme homosexual nature that Anne Rice made her male vampire characters. She completely wussified the men, and is who we have to thank for all modern day pretty "romantic" vampires, instead of the savage creatures they should be portrayed as.

Louis was a man turned vampire. I'm only going by what I saw in the movie Interview with the Vampire and weren't you a mod before?

From Interview with the Vampire it seems Lestat takes pride in drinking blood from innocents while Louis feels awfully guilty about it and starts drinking from rats instead.

The point, from the novels at least, is Lestat embraces being a vampire, which includes drinking blood. In the novels he actually switches at some point to only feeding on criminals, which is a bit better. Louis is just whiny, the fact that he is almost 300 years old boggles my mind because he just isn't happy. Oh right and as you saw in Queen of the Damned, Lestat has now fed on the queen of all vampires and so is now almost as powerful as she is. He can now fly, use pyrotechnics, doesn't need to feed and still has his "ability" to wake up earlier at night than other vampires do.

I think you may be reading too much into it.

Really.

BTW: The notion of romantic vampires happened a long time before Anne Rice, she just gets the lion's share of the blame.

At least Interview With the Vampire is far more mature and better than Twilight movie wise.
