Default amp experts

I want to upgrade my system and add a amp. Im thinking emotiva might be the one that i chose. Im stuck bewteen the xpa-3 or the upa-7. I like the xpa-3 because of the watts per channel, but the upa-7 is for all the channels. My question for all you pros out there is that will my yamaha 663 power my surrounds good enough or should i just get the upa and have all of my channels running on an amp. Advice please!

Do you have A 5.1 or A 7.1 !
The 663 will handle the surrounds fine forA 5.1 !

Thank you ! Just A thought , if you are adding A set of rear surrounds later why not get the XPA-5 & then when you get the rears you can run them off the 663 !
I think you would be happier doing that !

if im running 5 channels off a amp im thinking the two surrounds i add later would not be able to compete with the surrounds that are already connected to the amp, wouldnt there be a difference?

They would be fine ! There is not alot of 7.1 sound tracks out unless you are Matrixing 5.1 to 7.1

Right now I have my XPA-5 running my 3 front Bostons
My UPA-7 is Bi-amping my sorrounds
My rear surrounds are running off the receiver !
