The Dowdle Bros have yet to make a decent film and no matter if M. Night is only producing it, he is M. Night and his name is attached. His name does not mean a damn thing to me anymore...with the exception of Unbreakable. However, the trailer does look really strong but I'm still gonna wait til word comes out.

His name is no longer on the film as the studio has lost all faith in him since Last Airbender.

His scripts and ideas are normally pretty good but his direction is poor. This should be an interesting film.

No. No, he didn't. The story is his idea, but the script was written by Brian Nelson (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night).

The trailer is interesting. I'll see it.

I disagree with this. Strongly. lol

The Happening and The Last Airbender were felled by terrible dialogue and poorly realized stories. His direction remained crisp, Hitchcockian, and stylish. His only recent downfall as a director, IMO, is his handling of actors. He did the near impossible in The Happening: he made Zooey Deschanel unappealing. He remains a top-notch craftsman and stylist, IMO.

For the same reason Tim Burton puts his name on films he also didn't direct: to sell tickets.

The release date is September 17, 2010 (according to IMDB). Seems interesting, if not claustrophobic. Reminds me of Cujo and the majority of the film spent in terror, in a Pinto.

LOL, and play the new Eminem song in the background of the trailer "I love the way you lie"

That would make a better movie "Edge of Darkness" but really be about Mel Gibsons life

edit:
Trailer looks interesting, could be a decent rental.

Shymalan has had far more missess than hits. Unbreakable, Lady in the Water, The Happening = garbage.. I haven't watch Air Bender yet but..

He would be, but his name won't fit on their name tags.

Speaking of Radio Shack. I bought a battery charger for a video camera to document a road trip I took to Denver with some buds back in the day. Needless to say the video was classic, especially my perfect shot and my friend's pristine timing with the "why are you filming that dead bird?" line from American Beauty as we see a dead bird by his front door just before leaving. Anyway.....

After we get back, I decide to return it. Went in a few minutes before they closed. Now this is after I was in a car for countless hours on end, so I'm a bit out-of-it at this point. Tired as hell. I walk in, not really looking at the guy until I get to the counter. His fingernails are pink and he has a blond wig on. The last place I'd expect to see a guy in drag would be Radio Shack, let alone when he's working! Funniest thing ever and one of the most random things I've seen. Nice guy though.
