Two wrongs don't make a right. He's going to get it big time now. Seriously, a 13 year old girl is no joke and he is really going to get prison time.

I remember reading about the then 13 year old, that she felt used, but she got over it...
Anyways, I really hope he gets what he deserves, a person cannot justify having sex with a child, yes it's still a child in my eyes.

I know, that'd be like JFK's killer running away and then wanting come back the US 40 years later and asking; "Can you all forgive me like it never happened?"

Like I said...I'm surprised he was able to stay out of jail for this long.

He plead guilty to begin with cmon....he didn't want to go to jail for a crime he committed so he fled....he is in charge of his decisions, he's a grown up, and should be treated as such.

Non issue.

He pled guilty and fled.

They weren't waiting for the trial, they were waiting to carry out sentencing and there's no SOL on that.

How can anybody side with this guy at all? Who cares what the former judge did to him, he was at fault obviously. But rape is one thing...with a little girl is another.

If this guy was guilty of child molestation/rape, then I hope they put him away forever.

Sorry for his loss of his wife...that was messed up. They should have gassed Manson years ago.

That being said...there are no human beings more worthy of the death penalty than those that molest a child.

People seem to be willing to look the other way when they like the person's work (actor, singer, athlete, or in this case, director).

Angry What's wrong with YOU people?

How will I get my roman polanski fix if he goes to prison. Didn't you'll see rush hour 3? He was pure genius in that cameo role. She probably looked 31 instead of 13, bad eyesight perhaps. Rape is overrated anyways, it was more like a luv-tap in this case. Let him free because this happened like.............in the stone age. Roman Polanski looks like such a nice guy, I smell a roman polanski haters conspiracy here. He was frrraaaaammmmmeeeeeddddd!

All kidding aside, whatever happens happen.

I agree the guy is an artist in what he does and thats a point. But he still committed a crime which he should be punished for. So raping a 13 years old or even a woman its still is a RAPE. And thats not only despicable crime but the victim has to live with it for the rest of her live.

So I think this Polanski guy deserves to be in Guantanamo Bay for all I care, and doesn't deserve to be a member of this society.

Wow. I was just watching Chinatown last week and had this feeling come over me that Polanski was going to be arrested soon. That's pretty crazy.

There has been more versions about this "rape" than one could ever count.

The thing is, the "victim" (there has been accounts that the mother was in the know, encouraged the one time liaison, and that the girl was actually consenting -as much as a 13 year old can- with the possibility of hitting it big in hollywood) said herself that she "forgave" Polanski.
It's 31 years later, and he had striken a deal that he would plead guilty in order to avoid prison, which had been overturned (as the report indicates) and thus made him flee the US.

Was he right in his behavior at the time? Hell no.
Is it a parody of justice to go after him in such a troubled (and obviously unclear, riddled with misconducts by the then judge and lawyers) case 31 years later, even after the so called victim forgave him and said she 'd rather forget about this? yes.

Wonder how much money went into this case over 31 years that could have been better employed elsewhere in our legal system.
