"The figures does not include Playstation 3 sales."

Don't worry about this so called article, Xbots/HD DVD Fanbois love to discount PS3 sales. I think its a concerted effort to ignore the problem (the PS3) in hopes that it goes away. Delusion at its finest.

The numbers are still so small, that it doesn't matter.

It's maybe 20.000 HD-DVD players vs. 5.000 Blu-ray

These numbers mean nothing......

+ we have a least 500.000 PS3's

Soon the first player will be released from SONY

They can ignore it if they want to. However if they do then they CANNOT include it when they calculate that little "attach rate" stat they like so much. If you don't include the PS3 then Blu-ray has an insane attache rate.

Dam things just aint selling at the mo, mind you HDTV is only just starting to pick up some sort of trot.
Ah, it's becoming clearer now why the schew in numbers. I believe that in time this will most definately change. Just seems they're (the industry push that is) behind the curve a bit at this time. Not to mention the uncounted PS3 sales.

Something got to be done about that. the Bluray promotional group got to do something about that.

You have to also blame Rockstar for GTA4 being Limited since they want to make it for Xbox 360.

They love to include the PS/3: When they talk about attach rates (usually in the same press message or press release).

Ah, intellectual honesty.

€599? That's pretty good for Europe, isn't it? £399?

Traditionally we don't expect to get a great deal here in Canada. But, the PS/3 has been an exception. It's now CAD$549 (US$525/€380/£260)

what i can't understand is this. If more hd dvd players are sold that would mean thier movies should be selling way than BD. but its the other way around...more hd players sold, but more BD movies sold. like i said it before, it doesn't make any sense.

Retail here would be about CAD$200 for two games ($69 each) and a controller ($59). How about there?

They aren't including PS/3 usage. They are comparing strictly stand-alones.

There is still an underlying opinion that once the gaming becomes awesome on the PS/3, the usage for movies will drop away. But, obviously stand-alone owners are interested specifically in movies.

But, it ignores those who have purchased (and will continue to purchase) the PS/3 as a future-proof player (I'd estimate at least 5% of sales). Pure gamers buying movie discs is gravy.

Online retailer: £30 each for the games and £30 for the extra SIXAXIS = £90 / $183 (US)

Highstreet retailer: £40 each for the games and £35 for the extra SIXAXIS = £115 / $234 (US)
