Yeah it sounds like probably the core team was put on DS:E while they prepped DS 2. But I think that is probably actually a good thing because it sounds like they are doing a lot of pre-production prep work so hopefully the sequel isn't crap and has a good storyline.

Yes, yes it does. One of the funnest survival horror games I've played. Great story, too.

Not sure how they're going to one-up the original's ship environment but it's definitely one to watch.

I just started playing this recently and it's a badass game, I'm on level 10. I hope they do a good job on the movie, as well as Dead Space 2

Me, but what I actually said at the time (6 months ago) was that there was no DS2 in the works. So as it turns out, I was right as the news has just now been officially announced that they have entered pre-production. What the clueless fanatics claimed at the time was that the sequel was well underway and already announced, obviously this proves them wrong.

Actually the job listing states that the team is just about done with pre-production and is about to enter full production. The game was most likely still actively in pre-production or at least in the planning stages when you claim to have made your comment so technically you are still wrong.

The actual sequel may not have been "announced" back then but don't believe for a second EA wasn't planning on creating one at some point after Dead Space was done.

Not likely, they would have had their hands full getting the Wii release finished and out.

Nope. Eurocom made DS:E for EA. Visceral (the guys that made the original DS) are roughly a 2 project house. One game is Dante's Inferno and the other is DS2.

Sure you were

Anyway, I'm looking forward to DS2 as I loved the first game. I was wonderfully surprised with the level of polish and overall quality of the gameplay put into Dead Space considering it came from EA (internal).

Isn't the face in the pic above one of the trophy icons of the first dead space? I don't remember which one though, but sure looks similar.
