I have always loved this movie.
I have the Box set with all the films. "Born Losers" is a blast as well. Very cool flick.

They have also released a re-mastered regular version of this movie on DVD now too. But for the money it's probably not low enough to keep you off the Blu ray.

Looks really nice, I enjoyed the great colors on this, from the Indian reservation scenes, but mostly the vintage instruments guitars, drums amps and Bernard's Gold Corvette LOL..

"You drove a six thousand dollar automobile into the lake"? lol

Wow! 6 grand I'll take 70's pay rates along with 70's prices right now!!
The only qibbles I have with the blu are the menu screen with the cheesy synth music and the not having the original mono soundtrack as a choice. This is the best this film has ever looked, and the new 5.1 soundtrack adds some punch(and kick!). Hopefully if this blu-ray sells well for Image Entertainment, they eventually release a complete blu-ray Billy Jack box set!

Looks like it's now not available until Jan 12th 2010. Amazon did sell all the copies of the Sept 29th 2009 release that they had (I know, I bought one). I have no idea why it has been put on hold again, the blu-ray transfer was incredible for a nearly 40 year film. Some Best Buy's still have some in stock by the way for $19.99.

I'd agree the PQ is pretty amazing for a movie from the early 70s.

The blu-ray's extras are pretty good, with a 15-minute feature explaining how the movie was released (this apparently involved a pretty big dispute between Laughlin and Warner Bros.) and the original TV commercials (according to the featurette, this was the first movie ever to air commercials on TV.

Only disappointment: the movie has no SDH or English subtitles. Other than that, it's a pretty good package.

Maybe there gonna include the original mono soundtrack as well, the Blu-ray only has a 5.1 one along w/ the two commenteries.

Great price for this, I was glad to pay the 16.99 last Sept. The restoration is spectacular, the best the film had ever looked on home video. NO DNR ADDED! The only quibble I have is not including the original mono track as well. Image now needs to release a complete collection on blu like they did w/ DVD. Although I could live without "The Trial of Billy Jack.
