I also don't see Two Minute Warning on the list to choose from!

I wasn't trying to criticize you though, I actually think you've gotten all the necessary films on the list--you did a good job with that. This all goes back to endless discussion about what genre a particular film might be, a la Alien. A lot of films are more than one genre. However, School Ties is a straight drama, not a football film. But back to the poll!
Haha I never seen it, but it was on a list of football movies and if I havn't seen it I would read up on it to make sure it qualifies. Oh well! Got Em!!

Just curious Czar, why the distaste for Jerry Maguire? Is it because Cuba subsequently threw his career down the drain

Why do people say that about Cuba! He never had a career! haha! But seriously whats the thing on that? Also it wasn't my cup of tea when it comes to a football movie. More of a romantic film involving football. I didnt care for it but Cruise gave a great performance nonetheless! Got Em!!

haha well Cuba was great in Maguire and in Men of Honor. Other than that, he is the worst actor probably ever at choosing films. I agree--it was much more a romantic/drama type movie, with football as a backdrop. I agree about Cruise too, I thought he was very good.

I dont like Cuba much either but why do people say he sold his soul to win that oscar? Also Boyz N The Hood is a great film and Cuba did a great job there as well. Anyway whats up with that? Got Em!!

I had to go with Any Given Sunday.

Maybe this is a good thread to ask this question. Anyone know the movie where a runningback is running down field (it's during a night game) and a defender is between him and the endzone and he pulls a gun out and shoots the defender? I've seen that scene twice, but it's the only time I've seen any part of that movie.

Rudy is the best for sure. Gets me emotional everytime I watch it. It is a great movie from start to finish.

I do love Any Given Sunday speech though... but other than that I thought it was dull.

Remember the Titans was good too but nothing touches Rudy.

I'm gonna say Remember the Titans but I wanted to say football films, like all good sports films, are not really about football but something much more. That is what makes them good.

I haven't seen this but will add it to my Netflix list as I like movies with an inspirational, Christian theme. I would imagine most people who don't like it have a problem with that.

I love football movies, and it's a very tough call for me. I love Varsity Blues, The Waterboy, Friday Night Lights, Invincible, and Remember the Titans. I would probably go with Rudy except I hate Notre Dame, so I'll go with We Are Marshall.

I'd go with Two For the Money as the worst. I love sports gambling but that movie was absurd.

I still haven't gotten around to watching this, even though it's on HBO all the time. My dad really liked it too but it sounds real sad. I'll have to set a DVR recording and watch it some time.
