It's absolutely beautiful! You should make a custom stickerbook of it and sell on eBay for top dollar

I wish the FS one looked like that. The mock up looks way cooler.

Wall E was never released in a Steelbook before, not even in a DVD format in ANY Countries, if it did I would have know.

That's a much better looking version that what FS is going to have. Is that from Scanavo's website where you could upload photos to create a mock-up of a steelbook, or did you do that all on your own? I'd kill the blu banner on it, but it's a very nice job.

Personally, I hope they at least use that image with Wall-e in space hanging on to something and reaching up to touch stardust (or whatever it was) on the inside.

Actually, I think he should get a job with Disney. Scanavo just takes the artwork and prints it.

Nice job!

Thank you all for you positive feedback, glad that you like my Wall.e design.

Like most of you I think Futureshop could have made the Wall.e steelbook look much better than the silver one they are releasing in a few weeks time. I also have a couple of other steelbook designes (Phantom Menace, Transformers and Terminator 3) which I have created using the same technique which I post up today if you would like to see them.

These are all my own work and were created from scratch in Photoshop. I didn't even realise that Scanavo had a feature on their website to create steelbook mock-ups. If I have time today I might try uploading my images on their website to see how they look in 3D.

James,

I do like your mock-up quite a bit, but I think we will all be suitably impressed with how good the FutureShop version will look in person. I think the photos don't do the raw steel justice; the raw sealed steel has depth and a shimmering quality that's difficult to capture in a pic. Besides, having Wall-E surrounded by nothing but steel seems to have artistic merit, and will be unique.

Keep up the good photoshop work, maybe Scanavo will get some ideas from you.

wow what a mock up. That's some fantastic work there, great artistic style. While I agree we need to see the FS Wall E to judge the raw cold steel look, but I'm gonna have to say there is NO way it would look as good as that one.

I'm not sure if they still have it on their website, but I remember at one time they had something similar where you could upload your images to create a mock-up of a steelbook. I remember seeing it for the dvd steelies.

Hi mr. b,

I had a look on the Scavano webiste and the 3D steelbook creator is still online, but it doesn't give great results and it is hard to control the angle the steelbook is displayed at after you have uploaded your artwork. If you are looking to create custom blu-ray or DVD covers then Imandix Cover Pro is a much better solution, but the full version is not free. Maybe steelbooks will be included in a future release.

Following on from all of the positive comments which were very much apprecaited, I have created a separate thread (Official Custom Steelbook Cover Art Thread) for forum members to showcase their custom steelbook designs.

Hope you like my other designs and other forum members also upload their designs for everyone to see.

James

I think Scanavo just makes the steelbooks. They don't design them.

The design would come from the respective studios -- Disney, Universal, Warner. They are the ones that James should be working for.

It would be nice if Scanavo actually had a feature where you could create your own steelbook and they'd ship it to you for a price.

Thats what i thought. Ultimately the studio approves the art.

Anyways its just mock up and the thread is created by the users for fun.

Yes, but it would likely cost several thousand dollars for 4000 of them. :-)
