Yes I agree Descent it's a good horror movie they made it pretty realistic if something like that truly existed.

Poltergeist has a great transfer for a catalogue title, while for recent films I would recommend The Ruins for great picture quality.

Not sure if it's considered a Horror film, but more of a suspense/thriller type. As far as the movie goes, it's a VERY GOOD film either way you look at it.

I watched my copy yesterday and the transfer is very good as well.

Don't get the U.S. version of The Descent though.. import the Australian version. Much better PQ.

Welcome to the world of bluray. Try Final Destination. Also for non horror try Speed Racer and if you like war films Fox did an excellent blu of Patton from 1970, looks like it was made yesterday.

Welcome to blu-ray!

I recommend The Mist, 1408 and the original John Carpenter Halloween.

If you can get your hands on a copy, Nightmare on Elm Street is also great on BD (it was available for a while from Canada, but is now out-of-print).

to the OP or anyone else that's looking for an amazing PQ horror/scary movie, I would suggest looking through bluray PQ tier lists and try seeing any bluray movies towards the top. It's sure to give you a bluray horror/scary movie with at least great PQ (at least that would be the general consensus to those who voted/put it up on the list).

Hope this helps...

The Orphanage
Let The Right One In

The latter being the better film in my opinion.
