You said you picked Brando---what is your favorite role of his?
I LOVE A Streetcar Named Desire!

He's def. kidding about Affleck, who is not a good actor. Depp is a great actor, however, and I think he deserves to be on there as much as Denzel and more so than Cage.

Denzel and Cage are on there for popularity reasons because I knew people would vote for them, not that I thinkt hey should be up there

To me, that's a major pro. He is very selective about his roles which I believe allows him to sculpt each character/performance differently and is something I greatly respect and admire. Too many "skillful" actors seem to get in a habit of going after too many roles, and their performances start to become repetitive and overly-familiar (I think Tom Hanks is one of the few that hasn't yet fallen into that boat).

People seriously picked Denzel? Oh my.

Brando was the best, he just didn't care after '54, so he only did occasional good performances after that (Godfather, Last Tango, Apocalypse Now)... But for Streetcar alone, and Waterfront a bonus, he gets my vote. Its that good.

A definitive best is just not possible in my opinion. To those who question Denzel...come on...he's excellent though some of his more recent performances leave me scratching my head. The same can be said for Pacino and Deniro though. They all had their best performances years ago. I do wonder why Peter O'Toole was left out of the list. Gary Oldman should also be on this list. He's one of my favorites.

My favorite actors are Jimmy Stewart and Robert DuVall.

That being said, Marlon Brando could act proverbial circles around either of them, or just about anyone else on the list.

Jack Nicholson

The man is pure genius in every single one of his roles and I consider him to be the greatest actor of all time.

Depp? I hope you're kidding. I also hope he was one of the actors you just forgot to add.

With that being said, I don't think there's a contest. Brando is the most important actor of the past 100 years. Even though all of his movies are not all that great and as another poster pointed out he stopped caring, he has had the greatest impact on film acting.

Also, I think Mickey Rourke should be a part of this list. Of all the actors that has been included in this poll, he is the only actor to be accepted into the Actor's Studio after only one audition.
