Sony VS Samsung HDTV

Hello everyone

I looked through some of these threads and alot of you seem to know your stuff and i'm currently looking for an HDtv, around $1,500 to $1,700(40 inch or smaller for bedroom use, also preferably an LCD), these are the two brands that I trust but because i'm in a wheel chair and can't really go out and look for myself i'd like to get some opinions before I go ahead and buy something i'm not very experianced on, I keep hearing that Samsungs are looking better then Sony TVs these days and thats new news to me.
I will be watching Blu-Rays obviously...with my PS3, umm... I may sound like a Sony ***** but haha, I just really like the idea of everything in my room matching this time, Sony TV, Sony Surround Sound and my PS3 so the Samsung ruins that for me, haha.
i'm looking at this Sony Bravia V series tv tho(the model is KDL40V2500)
if any of you have seen these and have looked at other tvs in comparison or something, i'd really really appreciate it.
