Only up to 18 on my first play through and no freezing yet.

huh..that's weird..looks like a lot of people are freezing up in chap 25

my game froze up too last night in chap 25..its after that big hall in the main temple..as i pressed

to pick up a treasure..my game froze up.
haven't checked afterwards though..i'm sure my game auto saved.
instead of restarting my game..i just decided to shut the ps3 down all together as i saw that it was already 6am

lol

EDIT: oh yeah..same place as above ^ mentioned :P

I have the same issues at random points in the game. Every time I try to load from the same save point the game just hangs at the spinning dagger. I notice when the game is about to lock up it is accessing the hard drive (indicated by the yellow led). If I'm playing the game and notice that led is pegged solid, the next time a cut scene occurs it will lock up. In order for me to get around it, I have to restart a game from the previous chapter.

I've tried deleting save data and updating PS3 but to no avail. I emailed ND a few weeks ago but I'm sure i'm not going to get a response.

It's a shame...it really takes away from such a great game.

I'm hearing you pmac, my 60 gb has the 3.01 and the slim has the 3.0, but unfortunately for me they both freeze. I will wait for the next firmware update and go from there.Regards Grassy

Well there seems to be some really good feedback on this issue, since we pay good money for these games, i suppose its good to know that we can get our dollars worth. Lets face it guys when a new game comes out they are not cheap. My mind also goes back to the first uncharted game which also had problems freezing, if we do a google search we can see it all over the internet.Dont get me wrong guys, i am not trying to start something ugly here, i am just looking out for my hard earned investment, just like the people that sells me these games.These freezing issues could end up costing any one of us.It may be small time now, but who knows how far this could go. Having said that it is good to see that most people have been able to continue playing to the end of the game.

No freeze here on my launch 60gb... although I did have some graphical hiccups with the camera getting stuck to the point I had to restart the game, and some sticking in some other areas, but I was able to beat it with little hassle.

Still an amazing game.

When I started playing the game a buddy of mine warned me of a glitch in chapter 25 with the freezing issue so I was looking for it. For me it never happened though. Strange. He said he was picking up stuf, ie treasures when it happened. I can't remember if I picked up the treasures or not. I'm playing again and I am currently going through the ice caves. I'll keep an eye out to see if it happens this time.

I read a Amazon review of the game where someone was having the same issue as you...It might be just a bad batch that was produce that has those exact freezing issues...As far as my copy goes I also had issues with the game freezing but it happened in different chapters of the game and in multiplayer as well...Most likely my fault running my PS3 for God knows how long...hopefully ND can give you a solution to that problem and some kind of compensation for the trouble...

As far as a bad batch goes, i think that it is unlikely due to the fact that some issues are exacly the same and are in very different parts of the world with the same issue.I would not go blaming yourself for running the playstation for hours unless you get freezing in every single game you play. Like most problems there must be a solution as to why. I suppose that is the good thing about the forums is that a whole group of us can come up with ideas to narrow the problem down to the obvious.I am tending to think it could be a firmware problem.But yet again you could be right.

Sony has got back to me via email and directed me to there website where it told me nothing about my enquiry.

,So i rang sony and told them of the problem and they told me to wait for a response of "Naughty dog" and that it is most likely going to be fixed by the nexy patch, which seems to make sense so far.

I will be keeping everyone posted on this issue as the result will benefit all with this problem.

Same for me as well (60GB model). First time on hard as I was running up the stairs. The second time on crushing immediately after killing the last guy (I was about to start looting ammo and did not try to go up the stairs yet).

Both times the autosave did work.

I haven't read through all the replys but it froze up on my brother twice in one play through. It froze up right after the times it saved. I have a 60 gb model.

It was at the same place as well the 2nd time it froze before going up the stairs. When we restarted that's where he was on the stairs.

Yea, i think the auto save has something to do with it. It seems that sometimes the auto save is working for us, then working against us.I think the hand shaking of "auto save" and the "firmware updates" do not go hand in hand for some reason. Thats my guess at the moment.

I didn't experience any freezing, but there was one cut-scene where the audio just disappeared. I paused it and after unpausing it the audio was fine.

that's wierd..my game froze in chapter 25 after the main hall battle on my "hard" play through before the patch using a rental game disk.
and again it froze same place during my "crushing" play through after the patch a while ago, this time on a different game disk I traded for

pre-patch, post-patch, 2 different bd's, freezes at the same place..
but nothing major, just wierd, just had to reboot all's well

I finally got past chapter 4 and am up around chapter 13 with no hassle yet, seems to be working fine after the patch.

shes a cool game. I'll see what happens in the famous chapter 25(the freezing chapter).

I am really mpressed with the sound quality, just like the first uncharted(drakes fortune) its a quality sound track. Dts sound certainly sounds great on my system. The helicopter chases sound awesome with my 2x 800 watt subs.
