Cars already looked pretty impressive on DVD. The BD will most certainly be a reference title for animation films.

I will get this on BD, despite it's having a PCM soundtrack.
I'm a total sucker for ANYTHING Pixar.

I'm glad so many people are excited about this title... It just didn't do anything for me (too hyped I guess I expected more)... but it should look fabulous. I may rent it just for the BD experience.

If you want to see how good it will likely look on BD, take a look at the trailer stuff on one of the Pirates discs and pause on the part from Cars with the road and then hills in the background. On a 1080p display it looks really good.

Damn, I skipped those for the first time watching them. I'll have to pop them in again just for the trailers then

My son who turns two in a few weeks -disney cars party of course-absolutely loves this movie. I have had to put a limit on to how many times a week he can watch it--one of the few things he will watch. Very Very excited to see its coming out on Blu-Ray -my husband and I are very glad that he is addicted to a movie that we enjoy watching-that way it doesn't get annoying.

It's films like this that will really set Blu-ray in stone. Families want to see Pixar and Disney films, and if they come out in Blu and no HD-DUD, why would anyone get it?
Case in point...
The XBOX 360 caters mainly to the male ages 18-30 crowd, the PlayStation 3 also caters mainly to the male 18-30 crowd, but the Wii caters to the young, old, male, female, etc.. and mainly focuses on family friendly titles. Guess which one is selling out? That's right, the Wii declared they will not have enough consoles for the holiday season due to the high demand.
This goes to show you that the wider the audience, the better the sales.

Let see... that would be...

Toy Story, TS2, Bugs Life, Nemo, Monster Inc, Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille.

Whew! That's quite a collection. Not a bad idea.

Exactly. I LOVE Pixar and animation in general.
So that would be a sure buy to me!
Also that new movie, WALL•E, looks cool. Can't wait to get more info on that.
You can see a trailer for it at Apple.com/trailers

How can you not like animated tractor tipping?

I thought the movie was great! Not Pixar's best (Incredibles, Toy Story 1 &2, and Monsters Inc. I think are phenomenal), but great.

Checked out the trailer. My first impression was...uh oh..."Pixar Phone Home" when the robot gazes up longingly at the stars. Hope it does not become an animated ET. They have done such original work. Have to reserve judgement until summer '08. Thanks for the link!
