Default New 2 channel LSi9 set up

Just finished setting up a 2 channel stereo music arrangement for my den. I have been working on this for a while and just finshed it a few days ago. I went with a set of Polk LSi9's in cherry finish on Sanus 24 inch cherry finish stands. I am using a previously retired Onkyo TX-SR806 as a preout and an Emotiva UPA-2 4ohm, 185 x 2 watt amp. I hooked up a Wadia 170i to the digital input on my AVR and download all of my iTunes in Apple lossless. I also hooked up an Oppo disk player for CD's and SACD's. I tried connecting a small Polk Micropro sub, but ended up putting it back in the closet. The LSi9's sounded better without it.

I know there are fancier and much more expensive true audiophile set ups out there. But I had to share how pleased I am with this set up. I think the speakers do an absolutely great job. Today, I walked into the room and my wife had the system on playing classical piano. I was absolutely sure it was my daughter actually playing the piano. But it was the speakers. The realistic sound creation is amazing to me. The little speakers also do a super job of producing bass which is completely convincing for music listening. The combination of the Polks, the Emotiva, the digital Wadia and the lossless Apple files all combine to make a very, very enjoyable listening experience.

So for what it's worth, just thought I would share my impressions.
