Look what arrived on Monday for me! Follow the link for some camera captured shots. Better PC grabs soon (flat PC tyres).

Impressions: Video quality is good, some banding issues in the opening. Tones are consistent from when I went to see it in the cinema. Disc load times are about 1-2 minutes based on a Sony S series BD player.

Sound is trickier. The dialogue scenes are very front heavy but have good separations and the concert scenes are good but I haven't listened to them at full blast.

Extras-wise, the extras from the UK DVD have been ported over and seem to be in HD but the cast and crew commentary did not survive the porting over, I'm afraid.

Finally, to the thorny issue of region coding. Again, I'm sorry but since I live in Region b-land I can't tell you either way. The cover of the BD and disc both, clearly, state "B" but that could mean anything. I am buying a second BD-ROM player soon and will change the code on that to "A" so I can give you all answers but this won't happen till at least March. For those in region A places, who want to take the risk, I say go for it. It looks like a good disc.

Thank you very much for the update!!! Just a thought...Do you have any Video Stores in the area thta may have a Blu-ray player they can set to Region A to see if it will play? Like I said...Just a Thought! Again Thank you very much for keeping us posted!

reb2, I'm with you completely! I loved the movie and was very excited when Amazon (US) listed it to be e-mailed when it was out on blu-ray. Now, they're not releasing it and it sucks! This was at the top of my list of blu-rays I was looking forward to.

Finally March and now patiently awaiting an update from Eeeper.

Very interested in importing this, but concerned about region lock and what format the main menu is in (hopefully not PAL).

Edit: March 23rd.. Guess we'll never know if this Italian Blu-Ray will safely/properly play in R1 Players or on NTSC TV's.

Well you can't control the weather so it is understandable. I obviously don't know if anyone else is still interested, but I most certainly am.

Therefore, whenever you can get to I am still eagerly awaiting any kind of insight as to whether or not it's a good idea for me to import this title into the US. Since it's now been fully confirmed that it will not be released here in the USA on Blu-Ray.

Just ordered the Bluray from ebay.it. Didnt understand one word on the page, but luckily ebay/amazon/paypal navigation is standard

Will report on region coding when it arrives.

Also a note: there's a sequence where one of the characters plays a video he made with titles, and the titles have been translated to Italian. At first, I thought it was just the character being a bit of a pretentious ass!

I bought this Blu-ray yesterday from Amazon. It is the Italy version! I can't wait to get it!! I had no idea that Bandslam was on Blu-ray!

P.S. Bandslam had an extremely LIMITED RUN in theaters when it was released (2 screens). It would have made more $ if it had more screens!!

When you say "replaced" do you mean the original English text has ben replaced or Italian accompanies it?

Could you get a still of an image as an example even if it's just photographing the TV?
