Oh well Old Movies dont have same problems ...Mostly Releases after 2000 were started up with that stupid Idea...Still i would Like to Wait and see their progress in this field even i am personally against their advertisement of homesite on DVD's and Logos .

Hopefully they will come up something better in The BD .

i dont know if you are here to represent shemaroo or are just an above average fan.

either ways, DO NOT ask me to grow up.

i know exactly what i am talking about.

and i feel, that since shemaroo hasnt lived up to the dvd quality expectations nor has it shown any considerable improvment after so many years, Blurays are still lightyears away from their grasp.

im dissapointed that shemaroo will present sub-par BD's and the average audience will accept that as standard BD quality.

unless they really take their job seriously, and for a change, make a product that makes haters like me, appreciate the effort.

until i see proof, im gonna draw my conclusions from their track record.

and if anyone from shemaroo is reading this : Burnt-In logos are unnacceptable

i just dont believe, a publisher of high caliber like excel, prefers to let shemaroo author their transfers.

hence, i wont believe, until i see evidence, and i think its only fair.

It is actually a scary thought that Shemaroo will be now authoring and releasing Blu-ray disks. The fact is that they have always had some of the worst authored DVDs. Their DVDs almost always have an incorrect aspect ratio. They also have the largest and most obnoxious watermark logo showing throughout the film. Ofcourse, they also have tons of self promotional material playing before the film, during which time they also disable all the player controls.

PS: Excel is definately the most quality conscious, Bollywood video distribution company. Their 'Parineeta' DVD is by far the best Bollywood DVD ever released by an Indian company. Unfortunately they don't have the financial resources or the inclination to acquire more Bollywood titles.

Do you remember the golden days of DEI/BEI progressive DVDs.
If not try to catch hold of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam/ Kaho Na Pyaar Hai or any other title released by them.So far no one is encoding in progressive format. In bollywood publishers think that Shemaroo is the best because hardly a few understands the meaning of good dvd.

Considering that Shemaroo has not released any BDs yet, it is but natural to judge them by the work that they have done so far, which is DVDs and believe you me their DVDs are far from being anywhere close to good.

No offence, but do you work for Shemaroo or have a business relationship with them?

You are right BluIndia. 90% with shemaroo and rest 10% with all others like parshad, api , mosar baer, Global Video and lots of other small authoring houses. And its not bad to promote shemaroo before the release of any BD. While others can release uncropped screen shots of Rock On not from the BD but from some other source and announce that BD is approved by the director -then why you cant promote Shemaroo.

Sanjay, pl bear with BluIndia. Just see the timings of Shemaroo entering into BD Authoring and birth of BluIndia forum

Mosar Baer also started BD Authoring and informed sources say that their quality is superb.

Despite the fact that some authoring houses are not delivering the expected quality. I am really happy to see that so many are entering the arena. We've seen crappy VHS transfers on DVD of old titles...now with Blu Ray initiatives these prints would be 10 thousand times better and something that we'd never expected in past. Once the quality gets established companies would remaster the BD's again to meet the benchmarks ...and once RED comes into the Play not sure whether authoring would further be done for 4k2k...
